Going back and forth booking a cruise for this month. I know the kids club is open but we have a 2yr 10m old and wondering if there is open house at all? I know the age limits are strict so just wondering if we could get her in the kids club even with us? Her sister is 4 so I know she is good for the kids club.

Yes, They have lots of open house time. Usually in the mornings and most of the day on port days part of the club was open for open houses. However, it’s never open at night for open houses.
Also, they don’t really do any activities during this time and there is nothing out for the kids to do like coloring and tablets were in the past. Our newly 2 yr old was just happy to have a place to run around and climb.

we did encounter a few nice people that did things like set myolder son up with the video game in the marvel room or turn on the floor. But for the most part I found the staff during the open houses to completely ignore the kids and did not offer any activities, it actually made me concerned about sending my kids there when they are older bc the staff in the open houses was so disengaged from the kids. This was on the fantasy in October and Dream in November.

Also sometimes characters were there during open houses so that was fun.

Yes. Tim Tracker and family were just on a Merrytime cruise on the Fantasy and they posted a video of them in open house with their toddler. He seemed to really enjoy it.

I went to open house on the dream with my kids (they are all over 3, but the 1.5 hours per day you could book was not enough for them and we couldn’t get more times on board). They met woody in the toy story room, ran around the magic floor to change the colors on it, played spaceships pushing the buttons and levers on the various consoles in the star wars area, did the cruise ship captain game where you have controls and have to steer the ship on a screen around obstacles, did the tabletop games things—you can see that “screens” are a trend here though so honestly not sure how much a two year old would get out of it. Since you are just two months away from having a 3 year old, I would wait it out if I were you.

You don’t need to worry about sending your kids to secured activities in the Club/Lab. it is a totally different experience and that is when we are able to engage fully with the kids and the programs on offer.
During Open Hoise times, there is very limited staff and our main job is to greet people and observe to make sure there are no issues and maintain safety, not to engage with the kids. If there are kids alone without parents we try and engage them but otherwise you and your children are there to play together without interference from us.
