Hello, My husband and I are looking to book our first Disney Cruise for later this year. We have three kids: a 9 year old son, and two daughters - one is 13 and the other just turned 18. Those two are very close sisters and they do everything together. Upon researching, I see my son would be in the Oceaneers, my 13 year old would be at Edge, and my oldest would have just missed out on the Vibe (bummer, she's heartbroken). Now, I did notice there are open house hours (I love that this is an option), so my oldest would be able to go in the youth club and spend time with her sister. My question is, during these hours, is it just for pictures or can those who go in actually use the facilities. For example, I read there are video games in the Edge, during open house, can the kids play. I saw there’s like a little mini pool in the Vibe, if my daughter wants to check the Vibe out, can she get in during open house or will things like this not be operating during open house? Hopefully they will, that way she could feel like she's a part of it even though she just aged out.

All regular amenities, like games, are available during open houses. All people of any age may attend any open house period. You don't even need to have kids.

The only thing that is not open is the pool in Vibe. The Youth Activities Staff is required to be out there whenever the door to deck is open, so it is hard to have that open plus staff normally doing their roles. All of your children can attend any of the open houses, so if your son wants to show something to his sisters he could

Do parents need to be with kids during open house times? So could my 17 and 12 year old say go into a club during open house by themselves? or do parents need to be with since they aren't supervised at that time?

I believe at those ages they would have automatic self check-in and out anyway, so I don't think they would. Be aware that it is not considered secure programming though, so anyone on the ship could attend.
