This may sound dumbo but are all the ride attractions still open when the eve. fireworks are going on?We have always watched the fireworks both MK and Epcot, and thought we could catch a few more popular rides at this time.Am I silly to think the lines are less at this time? Thanks all

It's NOT dumbo, and yes, all the attractions are open during the fireworks and parades at Magic Kingdom. Epcot is a little different - all the World Showcase attractions and shows close at 9, but some of the Future World attractions that stay open after 7 PM, while you may not be able to get into line after 9, you should be fine if you're there by 9.

Good question- my dad was so confused with this question and it took so long to explain it to him. ;)

As previously posted, yes rides are still open during the evening spectaculars. Check out the times guide upon arrival to the parks, it will state special exceptions for certain rides. Since we were there this past week during free dining, it was quite crowded.

We have seen Illuminations numerous times and think that it is lousy in our humble ops compared to the holiday version. Therefore, we took advantage and rode Test Track with 20 min wait at 8:55pm. No problems there and when we got off, they were still loading riders.

It was also such a great experience because we rounded the bend outside right as the fireworks went off. Oh my, it was such an amazing experience.

The other posts are correct, but I think there might be a bit of confusion, so I'll be very SPECIFIC.

If a parade or "fireworks show" is scheduled to start at PARK CLOSING TIME:

You will be stopped from ENTERING the queue at that exact time.
If you are already IN the queue, you will be allowed to wait your turn and ride that attraction. When the queue is finished (last person inline has ridden) the ride will be shut down to guests for the evening. (Even if the parade or fireworks are still going on).

If a parade or fireworks are scheduled at a time that is, say, 30 minutes or an hour (or more) BEFORE the park is scheduled to close, the ride will, of course, continue to operate normally during the fireworks show and/or parade.

I don't think the Walt Disney World Railroad runs during Spectromagic and it seems like part of Fantasyland is closed during Wishes. Is this correct? :)

Fantasyland is still open, but they block off access to certain areas - like right behind the castle. WE were still able to ride Snow White, but you had to walk through a certain way to access it. It is a great time to be on the BTMRR or splash mountain!

Yes, the WDW RR does stop operating about 30 minutes prior to Wishes because it passes very near the area at the rear of MK where the larger fireworks are launched.
If there is a substantial amount of time that MK will remain open after the fireworks conclude, the RR will start up again.
