I need best course of action here...

I just booked a quick 3 day getaway to WDW in June and it required some borrowing since I had limited options. Well in the mean time my 1 bedroom standard waitlist filled for October at BWV. I know I can't believe it either. That replaced a 2 night stay at Poly and required more points = more borrowing.

Now get this, I had one night in a preferred studio at SSR and 2 nights CCV 1 bedroom for June. A standard view GF villa studio was available. I cancelled all my plans. Booked the 2 nights after an IT flub none the less and a 1 bedroom boardwalk view at BWV. I now have 8 points I can't bank from 2019.

Can you rent out just 8 points? Would another member even be interested in transferring in 8 points? Or should I consider changing my accommodations yet again? BTW I'm pretty happy and excited for my current reservations.

They would be worthless to rent out, as they can't be used to book anything. It's possible you could transfer them to another owner if the price is right.

Too few to rent out and since they're borrowed from 2019, they cannot be transferred. Were any of the points used for the existing reservations from your current UY? If so, you could ask MS to reallocate the points so that the borrowed points are used for one of the reservations and the points from the current UY get freed up so that you can bank them into the next UY.

I’ve changed reservations so many times for both trips that it’s hard to make sense of the mess, but that is what I’m thinking I’ll do is see if they can reallocate. Never done that before so maybe they can do it as a courtesy.

It sounds like the Oct reservation is also in the same UY as the June reservation. Assuming you have used some current points for that then ask MS to reallocate the borrowed points and then you could bank any current points that are released.

Give MS a call...they have a way to easily see what points were used in the reservations. If you have any bankable points, they will take care of reallocating so your borrowed points are used. I have done this a few times without any issues at all! Just have to do it 31 days prior to the June trip so that the freed up points do not go into holding status.

You can only add the night with OTU by calling in, but yes you can use your 8 points and then up to 24 OTU points to complete a night reservation.

We just bought 3 extra OUT to complete a 6 night stay.

Thanks for all the advice. I have even more points freed up now since I was able to get the entire length of stay for my trip in June in a standard studio at Grand Floridian.
I’m going to call today.
