Was just doing a nice bacon sandwich and I noticed the top of the gas hob was on backwards, so I took the frying pan off and moved the top round and put the pan back and carried on cooking - I noticed that the rear of the top wasn't quiet right, so I went to move it. Big mistake!! I forgot that moments before this end had been under the frying pan :earseek:

Boy did it hurt!

I touched it with my fore finger and thumb on my left hand and as soon as I made contact the pain was excruciating.
I instantly put my fingers under the cold tap and had to keep them there for ages. Every time I took my hand from under the water the pain returned.
I'm know walking round holding an icepole lolly between my finger and thumb!

ouch sorry to hear that tim, although maybe thats payback for telling kaylee to use an ironing board next time :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
hope the lolly does the trick and that the bacon sarnie was worth it ;)

goofyfish - I know this sounds stupid but wrap the burn in cling film-its the air touching the burn that causes it to hurt - do not put any cream etc on it as this will really not help. You can still run the hand under the cold water with the wrapping!!! on it. Hope it feels better soon.

Pain has eased now :)

My thumb is fine - just a little smooth shiney patch, but my finger has a large white blister that is actually numb to the touch!

I may have problem when I get to Florida in December - I've got no finger print left :)

Ouch ~ Hoping that it is feeling better now Tim.

What is an icepole lolly? Would that be an ice cube? Or a flavored Ice Pop on a stick?

I hope you're feeling better.

An Icepole is frozen fruit flavoured water in a plastic tube. It's like an ice lolly (popsicle?) with out a stick.
