In July we stayed at WL and visited WDW for the first time in 20years. (First time visit ever for my 10year old son).

Now unexpectedly we have the opportunity for a return trip to WDW in Nov of this year with extended family.

However, the return trip will not be to WL it will be to a timeshare condo that is 1 mile outside of WDW.

On one side I am excited at the chance to return so quickly and this time with my fiancee who did not go the previous time. However, I am concerned that by not staying on site I won't enjoy it the way I did. Also is it to soon for a return trip??

Has anyone else ever been in this situation?? Any help or suggesions would be appreciated.

If you love Disney it is never too soon. There is so much to see I just don't get tired of going. I have stayed both onsite and offsite. While it is a bit more convenient to stay onsite. You have a few more benefits and easier transportation, as well as a bit more pixie dust, it isn't bad staying off site either. While staying off site you do need to allow $ for parking and a bit of extra time to get to where you are going. It is a great way to save money. Not just on the lodging but also on food. You can save A LOT of money by staying in a condo with a kitchen and buying groceries for a few of the meals at the grocery stores. Lets put it this way. I don't care as much about where I stay as long as I get to go. ::yes::

Karlag4kids is right doesn't matter where you stay as long a you get to go! If you have a kitchen in the condo then you will have the convenience of preparing a little something in the morning.

In the evening when you arrive cold drinks and what have you waiting in the frige.

But, if your like me you will enjoy the stay regardless. :hyper: :yo-yo: princess:

Allow extra time for traffic and parking cituation.:boat: :boat: :boat:

WL is a wonderful resort which ensures a wonderful vacation but offsite can be wonderful as well. You'll have larger accomodations for everyone to spread out, not as much noise and children as you'll have on Disney property and you will still have a great time at the theme parks. Like the above posters, anytime at Disney is a good time.

It's actually BETTER for you to return so soon with an larger group.

Some people may enjoy WDW with more people, but I will admit I much prefer to be in command, which is much easier with less people.

You are not going to have the same experience with more people, because there are more people to please, you will do less of what you want and more of what others want.

Since you were there recently with your son it won't matter as much if you go with the flow of your group.

As for staying offsite, don't worry. I would imagine in November, unless you mean Thanksgiving, the traffic shouldn't be bad. If it IS Thanksgiving just allow extra time to get to and from the parks.

You will love having the kitchen. Even if you don't cook, you can do snacks and breakfast.

Have fun!

Thank you all for your input we have been debating this one back and worth since the opportunity presented itself.

Karen - what an interesting perspective that I hadn't even considered. I was focusing on the negative (I too prefer doing most things with a small group and was concerned). However, since we were recently there tring to "see it all" won't be a priority the way the first trip was.

May because I was just there I will be able to go with the group and just enjoy being surrounded once more by the magic that is simply Disney.

I will have to pop over to the WL (quick boat trip from MK) to if nothing else pat Humphrey's nose and gaze with wonder once more at that awsome lobby.

Thank you all if we do choose to take this opportunity I will go more at ease that I once felt.
