I know this is a silly questions so go ahead and get your giggles out now...

First timer here to Universal and if I were to book online for an onsite hotel, are the park tickets included in the price or do I have to add them extra?

I pick the onsite hotel I want and I get X price.
I can't find an option to add tickets.
Does the hotel price include tickets already?

I'm so used to WDW where I pick my hotel and then I have the option to add my tickets.

Hi! I had the same problem! Tickets are not included in the hotel price but I couldn't work out how to add them either. Turned our request over to my TA who booked it all for me. She's great, and if you want her name PM me. :goodvibes

You need to order tickets from a different website. You can't purchase them from Loews.

I suggest you go to www.undercovertourist.com to get them. They are cheaper there.

You can go through universal site and buy both hotel and tickets via vacation package link. Just select the dates you want and you can modify the type of tickets through additional options link once you choose the hotel.

But remember, it is usually cheaper to buy the hotel and tickets separately. If you book your room and you find that the rate is lowered all you need to do is call the reservation line and have the rate changed. Easy peasy!

And you only have to put down a one day deposit and don't have to pay the balance off beforehand, unlike a package. And there are fewer change and cancellation fees, unlike the package.

Whew... Thanks everyone!

For a minute there I thought I had forgotten how to make a hotel reservation, LOL.

So I can book online or with a TA and if I understand correctly, buy the tickets separately?

Regardless of where I buy the tickets, the Express Pass is still included because of the onsite hotel, correct?

Thanks again!

As long as you are staying onsite, your express pass is still included. The express pass is your room key.

Ahh, this is a nice convenience to have if changes are needed.

For my dates, it seems that the price is a little cheaper through the package versus booking hotel/purchasing tickets separately. So, price both accordingly and see which is better deal and consider the tradeoff for convenience.

What are your dates...we'll help you get the best deal. AAA rates are not available through the website but are available when you call. Also, discount rates aren't out a long time in advance. So if you are an early booker, with a package, you will probably miss out on the discounts.

One night, 4/10 - 4/11, and 2 days base tickets for 5 ppl (2 adults, 1 jr, 2 kids).
Thanks.

Jumping in to see what kind of price you get. :goodvibes

Who, me? :-)

Right now, for vacation package for 1 nite at RPR with 2 adults, 1 jr, 2 kids through universal travel, it is $1000.23. Pricing it separately, so far best I can get is $1010.98. Not big difference, but a little for the convenience for changes. For the vacation package deal, I guess you get the convenience of getting tickets at the hotel kiosk.

You get that convenience if you book your tickets separately too through the universalorlando.com website

What type of tickets are you looking for? One day 2 park, 2 day 2 park?

We are a family of 5 as well. Did you get a AAA discount?

two day base tickets through undercover tourist: $604.75 including tax (3 adults 2 kids)

I night at rpr (base price--not AAA, you'd have to call): $403.88 including tax

total: $1008.63

Seems like in the package price for tickets, they aren't charging the processing fee for the 2 day 1 park tickets...interesting

So the advantage of purchasing separately would just be the lack of advance payments, here, and the price if a AAA one is available.

Yeah, and right now I'm not AAA member, so adding the AAA membership would be $52 for me. Is it possible to call hotel and get quote even though I don't have AAA member # at the moment to get the prices?

Absolutely. They will give you all of your options. It is a toll free number, which sure is a nice change.

Thanks. Just called hotel, and no special promo going or special for AAA since it's busy week for them. :-(
