I am aware of the Swan and Dolphin as onsite non Disney hotels. I am sure there are others, is there a website that lists the others.

Can anyone recommend a onsite hotel which accomodates a family of five. I am looking for a resort type hotel or something in the deluxe category.

Thanks.

Buena Vista Palace..this use to hold 5, I stayed there about 8 years ago when it was the Wyndham & liked it very much.

Hilton..stayed there once but only had 4 of us so I cannot say if it holds 5.

Regal Sun Resort.. haven't stayed there since they changed their name, not sure if they hold 5, their standard rooms before changing names.

Best Western Lake Buena Vista..my favoirte out of all of them, but not what you would call upscale. They did hold 5 upon request.

Doubletree Guest Suites... they hold 5 but I cannot comment on them, I have never stayed

Holiday Inn (will open this fall) stayed there years ago when it was the Marriott, only held 4

Royal Plaza... stayed once years ago before renovations.. they did hold 5.

Just be aware that the above hotels are in the Downtown Disney area and are not onsite. They don't have the Disney perks that the other onsite hotels have with maybe the exception of the Hilton. The Hilton has the extra magic hours and transportation but check it out before you book because I read a thread lately that said they were discontinuing them.
The Swan and Dolphin and Shades of Green (military) are the only onsite hotels not owned by Disney but which have all the Disney perks.
Also go to the Disney resorts forum and post this. There are onsite hotels/villas that will hold 5 or more.

It's true that they may not be cheaper than the value resorts, but I think they offer more room. I just booked a two room suite at Doubletree for $80 a night which gives me two rooms, a refrig and a microwave.

Even though it's just me and my son going, he is usually up later than me and I'm awake earlier than him. If we only had one room, there is no doubt that we'd be waking each other up. It was worth it to me to have the second room and I was willing to trade off on some of the Disney perks.

While the DTD hotels are not cheaper than the onsite value's, the values do not hold 5, unless you get the family suites or book 2 rooms, then that is more expensive. This is the info OP was looking for...

OP asked for specific things in her post & if she has a family of 5, the values will not due. She also asked for one that was like a deluxe.. of which the values are far far from that ;)

www.downtowndisneyhotels.com

sometimes you can find a bargin on
www.expedia.com
or
www.travelzoo.com

that say they are generally not priced lower than the value resorts

I could not remember the site name...:lmao: I knew there was one.. and with that name, how could I have forgotten :rotfl: I did remember all of the hotels didn't I :upsidedow at least I hope I did :rotfl2: I have driven past them enough.....

another site OP can go on is Tripadvisor.com that will list all the sites (except TZ) for various prices....

Has anyone book through downtowndisneyhotels.com before? I see the rates are cheaper than Mousesavers.com

what about the bonet creek hotels? I know they are not "officially" on disney property, but they are surrounded on all sides by Disney property.

that would be the best bet... and depending on where it is rented from, can work out cheaper than some of the DTD hotels. I am getting a 2 bedroom for $100 per night in Aug

How long a walk ar ethe DTD hotels to DTD?

It says walking distance on some of their sites, but how long a walk?

This is a major perk to me. We have stayed 5 days on site with no car and loved it.

Tks
