What would you do? It looks like we will be booking for June this year if everything ($wise) goes accordingly..:)

We can stay offsite 5 nights for much less than onsite (obviously), so would you stay onsite for 4 nights or offsite for five? I know what my answer would be for WDW but unsure about DLP.

Thanks..Daisy:sunny:

Hi Daisy,

My answer would depend on what you mean by "off-site". Are you talking about one of the preferred hotels like Kyriad or Holiday Inn that have shuttle service to the parks, or do you mean a hotel farther out that would requre having your own car? Or maybe you mean in Paris, which would mean a train ride each day? If it is the first, I say go for the 5 days! If it's either of the others I would opt for 4 days "on-site". That's just me - I hate "shlepping" when I'm on a Disney vacation. At WDW I was fine with a Downtown Disney hotel, but I drew the line at a truly OFF site location. I feel the same about DLP, assuming this IS a Disney vacation for you and not a Paris vacation where DLP is an "also".

I would choose on-site for 4 nights, unless, like Jody said, you are planning a lot of time in Paris or 'doing' other sightseeing/attractions. The excellent location of the DLP hotels - all within walking distance is a huge bonus, and also the (usually!) excellent CM service.

Richard. :)

IMHO either are great!!

On our 1st trip to DLP we stayed at a little hotel just outside the boundaries of DLP (about 5 mins drive) called something like the Chanteloup - the place was good, DLP was really easy to get to provided you had a car and 3 of us travelled and stayed for £170 for 3 nights (excluding passes)

Last time stayed at Davey Crockett - Fine again - no problems but a little more pricier.

Staying at the Newport Bay in 3 weeks time which Im sure will also be excellent, a little more convenient but a lot pricier !!!!!!!

In short, both are good provided you have wheels - for Disney on a budget - take the ferry, drive down which is far easier than you think and stay offsite.

If you have money to burn, are flying or going by Eurostar - I would guess on-site is best.

Hope this helps!

I heard a lot of complains about some offsite hotels... I would go for a onsite hotel like Sequoia Lodge :D

I stayed at the Newport BAy on my honeymoon a couple of weeks ago and it was a dump. And I am not overly critical on hotels. The staff was very rude (although I expected that...duh Paris) but the hotel was dirty. There was wall paper peeling off everywhere the carpets were stained and there was more mold in the bathroom than in my back yard. We stayed at the Holiday Inn the first night for 1/3 of the cost and if I knew now what I knew then I would have spent the whole trip there. It was cleaner and the staff was great and the bus service was just as good as the NB. If I was to go back (and I doubt I will) I would never stay at the NB again.
