Can anyone give me feedback on this hotel? We can't decide where to stay for the week offsite and this one seems to get loads of positive reviews in other places.

I know it is a fair distance from the other attractions but that isn't a problem and that seems to be the only negative so far.

Thanks

I live down the road from this hotel. It isn't far to the parks at all from this hotel. It's a short drive down I-4.

I agree, it is a very short trip to WDW from the Omni.

Just BTT this post as by now there must be others who have stayed at the hotel. I would like to know how long in time it would take to drive to the like of Walmart, Universal, Millenia Mall etc.

Also dh took up the offer on the Onmi website to become a frequent visitor and recieved a pack for free upgrade and a few extras has anyone else done this?

We are hoping this will be a more relaxing second week as we are staying at AKL the first week to do the Disneys.

Thanks
Gail

Wal Mart would be about 10-12 in several directions. Universal would be about 25 mins. Millenia Mall maybe half an hour straight down I-4.

We stayed at the Omni last July for 2 nights on a Travlezoo special of $99 plus the resort fee.

It is a nice hotel, very upscale. Very nice bed and triple sheeted bedding, average size room. Nice bath with marble floors, countertops, tub surround.

I thought the service was excellent. We did not eat at the hotel.

The parking area is pretty distant from the entrance to the hotel, although you can use the valet if you want to.

We did not have a very good view (parking lot) but we did take a free upgrade to a room with a balcony.

We really liked the lazy river, neat slide, and zero entry pool. I would have loved renting a cabana but they were too pricey for us at $30 or more per hour.

You can get to WDW fairly quickly either on I4 or Old Lake Wilson Road to 192 to Sherberth. We have stayed in this general vicinity on 4 other occasions. I did find that the traffic was much worse this time on Old Lake Wilson road due to construction of a huge resort, I think it is the Reunion. It was almost easier to go I4 in 2005 whereas in prior years I4 was much slower.
We stopped at the Walmart on 27 and 192 on our way to the Omni as we drove and that Walmart is right on the way. Otherwise there is a nice Publix on the same exit as the Omni, I think it is I4 exit 58, Champion's Gate. the only bad thing about that Publix is that it closes at 8 pm. Stay away from the Chinese restaurant in the same little shopping center. It is not very good.

I would go to the Omni again in a heartbeat if I could get another deal like last year.

Hope you have a great time.
