Anyone stayed at this hotel yet? It only opened last Oct and has had great reviews but doesn't seem to be widely available in the UK brochures. First Choice are offering it as a choice on their website but not in the brochure.

Just wondered what it was like.

Hi Gail

We often stay in a villa close to the ChampionsGate resort - the Omni hotel looks amazing.....even by Orlando standards !!!

The hotel gets an excellent rating on Tripadvisor - it has an awesome pool area including a family pool with slides and a lazy river which winds around the resort.

Have you tried the Omni Orlando Resort website - there may be some promotional offers available for making a reservation direct with the hotel !

The one thing I would say is that if you did stay here you would probably need to hire a car - apart from a few stores and fast food outlets in the ChampionsGate complex there is not much more in the direct area.

Thanks for that, we have been to Orlando many times but always at the I-Drive end. We are intending to stay at AKL for one week and the Omni for the second so whilst there will be doing Universal and the Malls no doubt so we will definitely be getting a car.

I would welcome any first hand information all the same as I can't believe there is no-one on this site that hasn't actually stayed there yet LOL!

This is a beautiful hotel, but it is pretty much out on its own and slightly off the beaten track. It is just off I-4 south of Disney and it will probably take a good 15-20 minutes to get to the Disney parks from here (longer for Universal and SeaWorld). The restaurants are excellent, as is the water/pool area (with a great lazy river feature), and the whole resort is ideally set up for golfers (although you can just admire the two courses!). I think Virgin have also contracted with the Omni for 2006, so there should be a few Brits staying here in future. if you do go there, the Zen Asian restaurant is superb and David's Club is another standout. The rooms are immaculate, too, but there is also a convention element to the hotel which can make it a little busy at times.
