For the love of god. I accept everyone's personal life choices. I'm an black woman married to a white male so I have encountered prejudice because of my lifestyle choice. We however do not walk around wearing t shirts that say I love my white husband/black wife. My goodness, just because you are doesn't mean you have to rub it in peoples faces. I truly do support the gay community but i feel like some people within that community see it as a necessity to force their choice on others. I would never put my child in a t shirt that said, "I love my white Daddy and my black Mommy"

Flame away if you must.

I'm not getting this. I've been to Gay Days many times at Disney World. I've never seen t-shirts saying anything about their life choice. They do wear red, but that's about it. Why is this coming out of the blue? Gay Days was months ago. Are you just looking for an argument?

I just think the TA should warn people about them in advance. We missed them by a week two years ago. We haven't had to explain grandma's lifestyle to our kids yet and I wouldn't want to do it because of something the kids witnessed while on vacation either. Course, PDA between hetero couples makes me uncomfortable as well.

Wow, you must be experiencing a cold front to need to post something so flammable!

Just think about all the other t-shirts with slogans that people wear, about autism, ethnicity (kiss me I'm Irish), etc. Do you find those offensive too, or just ones proclaiming sexual preference?

Just curious, but what t-shirts do ppl wear with slogans about autism? That seems really crazy...

I just find it to be rude and obnoxious. Like you're rubbing people's face in it. I find proclamation t-shirts all annoying, especially the Kiss Me I'm Irish shirts (unless it's st. patricks day). Why would you want to draw attention to yourself or your child?:confused3

Don't you think your post is a tad bit ironic given your screen name is " I HEART Edward?"

Hypocritical NO?!

Funny how you changed what is says under your name......

Just saying....

My very burly FIL wears a shirt that says 'I love a Marine'. MIL was a drill sargent (no one messes with grandma). I don't see how this is any different. More people should have pride in who and what they are.

Everyone has a right to be proud of who they are. It's not like the shirts would have profanity on them... Who cares anyway? It's called "gay days" for a reason...

I don't think this thread belongs here....

with only 8 post i wouldnt worry about it. hmmmm

Living in the USA we all have rights. Gay people can be proud to

Why would a tee about autism be "crazy"? I have seen children wearing tee's explaining they have autism. In theory it saves time explaining and rude looks/comments.

Can I just say something that was really, really ironic my trip in August, a couple ahead of us were wearing bright green shirts with autism awareness on it with a big spchiel (sp??) about tollerance and then THEY tutted at my son for getting in the way & being generally dizzy when we tried to get him back out of their way... ironically my DS IS high functioning autistic and has dyspraxia too which is why he was floundering around, why he got confused when we instructed him to move to the side and I found it inwardly hilarious people with shirts preaching understanding for their own autistic family member could assume they had the one and only autistic child in the park and that their autistic child is the blue print of how all other ASD kids behave

wow. really?
You were bothered on gay days because same-sex couple had on shirts proclaiming they loved their partner? And you felt the need to get on the boards to whine about this?
I haven't been to WDW during gay days. But, when I did go I saw about a million different t-shirts with different phrases on them from stuff like "my daughter is a princess" to "Married in the World" (and I've seen a lot on these boards). I think it's a fun and appropriate way to share a message with people.

My kids already know that people come in different varieties. That is what makes the world go around:goodvibes They know "that some people like the same kind of person and some like a different type of person." I told them it is the same as their black, asian, etc friends. We judge people for who they are and not who they love or what they look like:thumbsup2
