Last time we were in DL (last summer) we were able to have mulitple FPs. I think I heard some where that this is not allowed any more. Is that correct?
? Last summer the CMs would let us come back even if we were later than our window.
Last year during the busy season the FP system was not allowing one to "stack" FPs for the same ride. Ie, you had to use your 1st FP for any particular ride before you could get another one for that ride, regardless of whether your window was open. You could get an FP for another ride if you wished when your window was open.
During the off-season, we often get an FP for our favorite ride when we enter the park, get one for a different ride, then go back and get a second and third FP for our favorite ride again as the windows open up, then right before we leave the park we ride Space 3x in a row with all of our FPs for the day. During the busy season they prevented this (my friend went in July and was disappointed he could not stack them, when we went in late Sept/Oct, they were not checking off who had turned in FPs anymore).
Last summer the CMs would let us come back even if we were later than our window. Is that still possible or do you have to come back with in the time on the ticket now?
The FP policy on getting a second FP for the SAME attraction has always been that you cannot get it until the beginning of your window of the previous FP you obtained for that attraction. Is that what you encountered? If so, that is still the case, not just during busy times.

This is correct. This was what made riding Star Tours multiple times per day challenging last summer. FPs were going so fast! Say I pulled my first FP for the 4-5pm window at 9am. On the bottom of the FP it should say I could get another FP at 11am. But I cannot go back to Star Tours at 11am and try to pull another FP for ST because my window has yet to open. I would have to wait until 4pm to get another Star Tours FP, but last summer all the FPs would have been distributed already. I am guessing this is a way to make a very popular ride more available to park guests. Of course at 11am, I would be able to get a FP for any other ride in the park except ST.
This mainly becomes an issue during very busy times or when there is a super popular attraction. During the course of a normal visit to DLR, you might not even be aware of this policy, because the FP return times won't be too far out.
Yes, Dreams and Arch are quite correct.Hmm... I had no idea it worked that way because we always got two FPs a day for ST. One at opening with an early return time. Then just before we got in line we would go back to the FP machine and get another that was for much later in the day. They then ran out of FPs in another two hours so I had idea I wouldn't have been able to get another anyway.![]()
What about World of Color fastpass? Is there a 2 hour wait after getting one of those, or is it disconnected from the normal attractions?
The WOC FPs are disconnected from the normal attractions. What about World of Color fastpass? Is there a 2 hour wait after getting one of those, or is it disconnected from the normal attractions?
How will getting a World of Color FASTPASS affect my other FP collecting?
No effect. They are not linked. The WOC FP is a misnomer and Disney initially planned to call it a "Showpass". But they had logistical problems using that name and decided to just call it "FASTPASS". However it is not a FP at all but really just a reservation for a show. It does not get you into the show early or get you anything special other than admittance. And it has no effect at all on being able to get other FPs.

Edited to Add: "I'm mikey" beat me to it...![]()
Yes, I'm familiar with that part. My point was that last year you had to use the first FP for attractions like Star Tours and Space Mountain before the FP machine would let one get a second pass. Say at 8am one gets a fast pass for 10am. At 10am one can get another fast pass for the same ride or any other ride. What we do is get one at 8am for a 10am slot, one at 10am for a 1p slot, one at 1p for a 3p slot, then use all three fastpasses for the same ride at 8pm. This was something that is possible during slow season. The FP policy on getting a second FP for the SAME attraction has always been that you cannot get it until the beginning of your window of the previous FP you obtained for that attraction. Last year during the high summer, they were collecting and scanning the fastpasses as you handed them in so that if you got a Star Tours pass at 8am for a 10am ride, you could not get one at 10am for Star Tours unless you used your 10a slot for Star Tours first and they scanned your ticket. You could get a different (ie Space Mountain) pass at 10am, or you could go on the Star Tours ride at 10am, then walk out and get a second Start Tours pass. But during the busy season they were not allowing people to get 3 fast passes for the same ride and ride it three times in a row from the fast pass line, because the first ticket had to be scanned in before the system would allow you to grab the second. Somewhere I have pictures of the "Sorry you can't get this FP since you are already holding one for this attraction" printouts my friend sent me from his phone. He was worried that they might continue this into our trip in the fall and DLR did not (the CMs at the time told them it was just for busy season, but one never knows).
They were told by CMs the non-stacking policy was park-wide but I'm not sure if my friends tried to stack for anything other than Space and Star Tours since those are our favorites.
Apologies if I'm explaining it badly.
WOW! I have NEVER seen, experienced, or heard of that. Not even on NYE....Last year during the high summer, they were collecting and scanning the fastpasses as you handed them...
Ah, now THAT I have seen. Did you actually experience CMs scanning your FP or was that your friend's experience? The printout that you mention here is what you receive if you are too early. I wonder if your friend was just a little too early for the window.Somewhere I have pictures of the "Sorry you can't get this FP since you are already holding one for this attraction" printouts my friend sent me from his phone. Oh wow, I have never seen that before. The CMs had a hand-held scanner and were scanning the FPs as you entered? If so, I would think this would be for very, very busy times since I was at DL last Memorial Day and again in July and yet again over Labor Day weekend and never ran into this. The only thing that was limiting my collection of FPs was that they were running out so fast!
I was also at DLR over NYE and again didn't run into this. So I am wondering if this was ST specific and only used on select days?![]()
I don't go during high season (usually - this year will be the first time I'm going in the summer and it was an accident).WOW! I have NEVER seen, experienced, or heard of that. Not even on NYE.

I have just never heard of not being able to get one until you use one. Interesting.
