will you turn your heat off and your air on!!!! I can't believe it can be 32 degrees in the morning and by 3p.m. be 88 degrees out!!!! Has anyone else broke down and turned their air on yet?

Not yet, but we are not that warm. I would be happy just to have the windows open. The wind is too cold for me though.

Where do you live in NE? I was born there and most of my extended family lives there.

we live in a small town about 50 miles east of lincon, or 40 miles south of omaha. Where did you use to live?

Since our temps are already averaging 85F we have had our air conditioner on for a couple of weeks.

You must be near the Iowa border. I know that area can get some real changes in temps this time of year.

We had to do that once here already. I currently have everything turned off but haven't opened windows yet today. I thought we were finished with heat but had to use it Sunday and Monday because it was cold!! It's MAY and time for warm weather!!!

No kidding! I had the a/c on the other day and turned it off before bedtime. It was 76 when I went to bed, when I woke up it was 67. Brrrrrr. I really didn't want to turn the a/c off and then turn the heat on. Kind of silly. I remember being in school and having to wear a heavy coat in the morning to the bus stop and then being hot coming home. I will never get used to this weather.

Even here in Colorado, some have been doing the heat/air thing. We have an attic fan, so turn it on late afternoon and it cools the house down pretty good, so we haven't used the AC yet. Nights are low 40's, day are up in the 80's. Pretty warm for these parts.

I love your post thread. Being in WI, you go from paying huge heat bills, just to turn your AC and start with the electric bills. Never no happy medium.

Same is going on here in Chicagoland. My heat was on this morning when I got up. Now I am trying really hard to not put on the a/c, although I am slowly getting ready to cave in.
By this evening we are supposed ot have thunderstorms and a major temperature drop for the rest of the week.

We've had the A/C several times this year so far, usually only one day, then back to heat. But we are getting there. HVAC folks are coming a bit later today for the annual look over, make sure we are all set for the summer.

We just had frost Sunday & Monday & the next three days it will be in the 80's.. ..

My relatives are in Norfolk. I was born in North Platte.

We moved to the QCA in IA when I was in middle school. Now I live with my DH and DD in WI. I am a midwest girl so I should be used to the crazy weather!

We have not turned our air on yet, but we have had a few days like you just described. We keep the shades pulled and the windows shut to keep the heat out. I don't like to turn my air on until I absolutely have too.

We turned ours on for the first time today just because we are trying to sell our house, and I'm supposed to be showing it today. We used to live over by the western part of Iowa. We lived in Red Oak. We miss Omaha, but not Red Oak

Another from NE reporting in. My usual rule is not to turn on the AC until Memorial Day but.... It was too hot upstairs last night so I broke down and turned it on. The reward is that it makes for a happier family!!!

I'm in Omaha too and have the AC on. I didn't turn the heat on last night though and was cold! LOL! The zip off pants are great for ds, since it's so cold when he heads off to school and so hot by lunch! I hate zipping them back on though, lol!
