Our planned skiing trip to the US this Xmas was on the Agenda for sorting out this Easter weekend, so after sitting down sifting through all the brochures we all came to the same conclusion - SO EXPENSIVE for when we could go during the school holidays. The rates rocketed up over the Xmas hols and then we thought there'd be so many people on the slopes - I'm used to that, but for our DD it would be her first and my DH's second ski trip and so one we want to remember.
So, we've booked to go back to Florida this October, 16 nights - 6 ir Orlando, 10 on Marco Island (our fave last October)
Just got to chat with DDs school because the only flights we could get to coincide with half term go out on 15th, which means 8 days out of school (wasn't a problem last year so can't imagine it would be this year, no exams then or anything and she's bright so not missing anything too drastic). We can't take two weeks in summer hols as DH's work commitments take him away in August to an exhibition for two weeks and a week into September and before that he's getting everything prepared.
The ski trip will now (hopefully) be in Europe February half-term 2004.
OMG, I've got to crack on with the planning now
MNSSHP is a must. . . Hard Rock Hotel is a defo if only for one night. We'll be based at the Sheraton Safari, where we stayed for a few nights last year. It's in a great location so suits us, it's cheap and has everything we need. Just need to decide whether one night at a Disney resort will be worth it - I don't think it will. We stayed at AKL for 2 nights last year and loved every minute, but we only want to stay in Orlando for 6 nights, 2 days of which will be at Universal.
Oh happy days . . . .
