Only booking 2 FPs?

For our day at DHS, I was planning on booking FPs for slinky dog, ToT and RnR. I realized that my son will probably not be tall enough for RnR (he is currently 47 inches with shoes on). Can I just book slinky dog and ToT (as early as possible), then try for a third FP right away once we are done with those at the park (using the refresh method)? We'd also want to do TSM and aliens, or more rides on slinky dog or ToT.

Before being available for another tier 1 FP (SDD or aliens) you have to do 3 fast passes. I would book TOT again as soon as you get in line to have another ride on SDD, TSM or aliens
