Only 615 Days and Counting!!! ***UPDATE 6-21*** complete! New PTR added

Ooh you should totally do a PTR, I would totally read it! I would love to hear all about your plans!

We wanted to drive, but it's just too much for a short trip. I am sure you all will have a great drive!

Thank you! I really love keeping my family in the Disney sprit all the time!

I started a pre-trip report :wave2: Link is my my siggie! Hi everyone in the STL! I can't want to meet everyone!

:wave2: I have "seen" you around so much I don't know how I never ended up on your ptr....... but then I saw those ADORABLE towels on Terrie's and I had to pop over. :cool1:

I just read through the whole thing and I am sure that I will not remember everything that I wanted to comment on.....:confused3

Christmas looks so fun around there!!! We have a lot of similar things here in NC but it would be nice to have everything in one town! Ours is so spread out!!!

I love all of the movie nights. I have said over and over that I would like to start them and still have not...... maybe I will just keep reading for inspiration!

We are going to be there at the same time. I am already planning on meeting Terri at MNSSHP on the 2nd. We were hoping to be at POR together but now that it has been excluded, they have switched to POP and we are at CSR, but at least everyone is happy!!! :) We arrive on the 24th and are staying until the 5th. This is our first trip EVER so I am super excited!!!

Man, I wish I could sew...... I keep giving all of these ideas to my mom hoping she will do them for me.... I try to stick to crafts that I am good at :lmao: (I wonder how long it would take to hand sew an outfit???? That, I might be able to accomplish ???) Anywho.... you do such a great job!! I can't wait to see all of the outfits that you make... and you have such an adorable model

well, this reply is long enough, I suppose.... looking forward to hearing more about your trip!!!

We do have lots of Christmas fun around here!

You can sew! I used to be a sewing teacher and I firmly believe that anyone can learn to do it! It is so much fun to complete an outfit for your kiddo!

I never in a million years thought I would be able to go during the fall, I am so excited! I think you will like CSR, my cousin stayed there last June and loved it! It looks so pretty!

Wow! The time is really ticking by, isn't it? I can not wait for our trip to be here but the time really is flying by!

So, here I am with several things to update!
First, for those of you who celebrate Easter, I hope yours was good, ours was wonderful! We had great weather and lots of fun!
Charlotte got waaay too much in her basket:

She loved her Anna doll, it was so worth the trouble it took to get it!

Here is Charlotte all dresses and ready for Easter:

The day after Easter I went up to Target with one thing in mind, I wanted to get some of the Easter basket toys on clearance! I want to make Charlotte a bag with fun (but very cheap) new stuff to amuse her on the plane. I figure if it is cheap enough, it doesn;t really matter if these things come home with us. I was very pleased with the selection they had left. Here is what I came home with:

All were half off so they were aout 2.50 each. It will make a great bag of plane surprises!

I took Charlotte out in her Jesse birthday dress to take pics for her birthday invite, they turned out pretty cute!

Last week, I finished a sewing project that has been on my list for a long time! Charlotte has wanted a Belle dress for ages. I kept putting off making one because I could not find a pattern or tutorial that I actually liked. They were all kind of off. So, I used a couple of tutorials for a starting off point, but, from there I just kind of winged it. It took a long time, and lots of trial and error, but I finally finished it! I am very proud of this one, it was very time consuming, but when Charlotte saw it, her reaction was worth every second I spent on it!

Charlotte is really into curtsying right now, which I think is totally adorable!

Friday night we had another movie night, The Jungle Book! I was very excited about this one. I always loved the movie when I was young and I could not wait to share it with Charlotte. I had a hard time coming up with a menu for this one. The movie is set in India, but we are not crazy about Indian food. So, I went a little unconventional. I saw a fruit tray on Pinterest that would be cute so I made my own version:
IMG_1800_zpsfc34bfb0.jpg

That was our jungle fruit tray.
We also had Kaa sandwiches:
IMG_1801_zps66a47a58.jpg

Instead of dessert we had popcorn while we were watching the movie. Bob, went to the movie theater and got actual movie theater popcorn! It was a real treat! (Movie theater popcorn is my favorite snack:yay:!)
For decorations, I went to the dollar store and got some fake leaves, crepe paper, and brown butcher paper. I took old wrapping paper rolls and guled ripped strips of butcher paper to look like the trunks of palm trees. Then, I glued some of the leaves on top. I took the rest of the leaves and stapled them to crepe paper and taped them to to ceiling to look like vines! It was so cheap and all came together really fast.
IMG_1804_zpsf84e4c86.jpg

Charlotte loved it!
IMG_1807_zps18f2190c.jpg

She especially loved the ants on a log from the fruit tray!

It was a fantastic movie night!

Now, as you all know this Sept. trip was planned so I could get the Disney Vera Bradley bags in Midnight Mickey that I had asked for Christmas. I thought all hope was lost for my bags. Then Andrea (anniebabymu) alerted me on Monday that they were again stocked at the Disneystore.com! I immediately jumped on to make my purchase. Although, I really did not know which bag style(s) I wanted! Last fall I was sure I wanted the backpack and the duffel, but the backpack was the smaller sized Vera backpack, and I was pretty sure that it would not work. I currently used the larger Vera backpack (not Disney print) as my diaper bag. So, then I was torn. I really could use a new purse. So, should I get the tote to use as my diaper bag or the hipster to use as my purse? :confused3 I thought for a few minutes and then Bob called me back from work and told me to go ahead and get all three! :woohoo: I was so shocked! He said he saved some money from last Christmas when he couldn't get the bags originally and didn't want to take a chance on not being able to get it later when I inevitably change my mind! :rotfl: He is hilarious I know! The only catch, I can't have the tote until mothers day! He went ahead and let me have the other two now! So here is my duffel:
DSC_0006_zps4f55b2b4.jpg

It is huge and so perfect! I think I got pretty good Mickey placement! I can't wait to use it!
Here is my hipster:
DSC_0008_zpsa9271f36.jpg

I tried to rotate it in Photobucket, I am not sure why it is giving me so much trouble!

So, in trip news, as many of you know Disney Visa free dining came out on Friday. I had a PIN for 35% off the room, but I wanted to see if FD would save anymore, so after 1 hour on the phone, I saved $38!:lmao: But, $38 is still something right? I had told Bob I was going to call and see what I could save and he told me to go ahead and add the memory maker while I was on the phone! (If you remember from earlier, he didn't really want the MM. He said he changed his mind) So, I am for sure doing that too! :woohoo: Glad to have a few things settled.

With that settled...our park days are still up in the air! I really want to make our last day our HS day. I want to meet Terri and see Lori again! I have literally been checking the reservation system for other BoG times every day, several times a day! I am hopeful something will work out for us! Until then, I am having a hard time planing out our park time!

The other thing that is bugging me, I still can't make up my mind for our MNSSHP costumes! :confused3 I am so torn! I really like the idea of me and DH as mickey and Minnie and Charlotte as Daisy ( I have a cute idea on how to make Daisy) But, I also kind of want to be a princess! There aren't too many times a women over 30 can be a princess you know? So that is what I am currently obsessing over!

Anyway, thats all for now!

What a wonderful update!! And so much to comment on!

Looks like you guys had a great Easter! Charlotte's dress is so cute... did you make it? So glad she loved that Anna doll! I just love the little Olaf that came with it. Harper got that little light up Ariel "spinner" in her stocking for Christmas! I forgot about it until I saw yours... definitely going to have to pack it in our Disney bag! And what a great stash for the airplane bag! It's crazy... but at Mercy's Gift Shop they have Disney Jelly Belly's too and I got the girls some Minnie ones for their airplane bags! And I also found a Disney pack of 2 card games (A game called Snap and Go Fish) for like $2-$3! Of all places... it was crazy!

Of course I love, love, love the Jessie dress and that Belle dress is to die for! And knowing that you did it without a pattern... you are simply amazing! No, seriously!

Your movie night turned out soooooo cute! What a great time!

I still can't believe I stumbled upon the Vera bags!!! How awesome he let you get all 3!! And the duffel is so much bigger than I thought it would be! Do you think it would be considered a "carry-on" size? I mean, it's smooshable, so I'm thinking yes... but not sure! And you got great Mickey placements! I'm so in love with my bag! I took it to work last night and everyone LOVED it! They didn't even notice the Mickey's until they really looked at it and were like, "Oh my gosh! Mickey is in there!" Everybody loves it!

And of course $38 is $38! That brings your Memory Maker down to almost $100! Every little penny counts! I'm thinking of upgrading to an AP when we're there because even with getting the discounted runDisney park tickets, buying an AP will save me $15. Just $15... and then maybe I can sweet talk the hubby into letting me take another trip to max out my AP! Ha ha! Stinks that the FD offer is just on either side of my November dates! Hopefully I'll get a decent room discount!

Sorry you're having such a hard time with your park days! I would think that would be hard with shorter trips... heck, sometimes I have problems planning a 7 day trip! It would be awesome to get to HS on your last day to meet up with Lori and Terri!

Love the Mickey, Minnie and Daisy idea... but you're right... when else does a 30'something get to dress up like a princess and it be totally acceptable! Ha ha!

Oh my goodness!! That update!! So much Disney fun!! Yeeeeeee!

Okay, so Charlottes Easter basket was beautiful! So glad she got her Anna doll! I did the same thing with picking up toys at Target but I was late and got 75% off! They didn't have much left though but I did get a couple light spinners for the trip!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE her birthday photo! Too adorable!

You already know my feelings on your awesome movie night and the Belle dress that she absolutely must wear for dinner with the Beast!

Hmmm... That is a dilemma on the costumes. It is fun to be a princess! But Minnie really is the queen of Dinsey ;)

My main thing with the costumes is having one that will be easy to use in the parks, not get in my way, and comfortable!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Oh my goodness with the Belle dress-

That is BEAUTIFUL! And your little model looks beautiful in it!

Your movie night is fantastically themed. Great job! I love the fruit tray! Very awesome!

And yhea on saving money! Always good!

awesome update! so much to love!

charlotte in her birthday outfit is adorable and that is the PERFECT place to take a picture! her birthday invite will be so cute!

I love those sparkly princess jelly bellies! how did I miss those at target?!? I found some once somewhere else in a little box. the girls saved them for as long as possible and used them for princess tea parties. it was so cute and perfect princess food!

I can't believe charlotte ate the ants on a log! she's amazing! we all eat the peanut butter and raisins off and the celery just gets tossed.

well, of course, I don't think you can go wrong with any of your Halloween costume ideas. why don't you just let charlotte pick? sometimes when I can't make a decision I just ask one of the kids. they don't stress over it like I do and then the decision is made and I can move on. they have it so easy!

and....i'll tell you where you can be a princess! when you and charlotte come to Hannah and maddie's superhero princess birthday party (yeah, superhero princess....i'm not fighting it  ). I think everyone should dress up for that! also, my wheels are turning on an STL DISmeet movie night, and I think that's the perfect opportunity to rock a tiara! just jot down those princess opportunities is all I'm saying.....:thumbsup2

and, of course, MICKEY BAGS!!!!! :yay:

Wow!!! That Belle dress.......AMAZING!!!! Sooooooooo, do you sell things?....:lmao::lmao:

I love the idea of being a princess for halloween too, of course it sounds like you might have plenty of other oppurtunities......;) We are gonna be fairies because we already have the wings from the renaissance festival last Aug. not very disney, but they are gonna dress up for our princess day so........:confused3

Aaaaah, movie nights popcorn::

Yes, I did make the Easter dress, thank you! Charlotte picked out the fabric and was somewhat involved in picking out the pattern, she really loves this one and wants to wear it all the time. I think she liked taking some ownership in the dress!

Charlotte got some of the princess jellybellys in her Easter basket and loved them, so when I saw they still had a few left 50% off, I knew they would be fun on the plane! I can't believe all the good finds you found in the Mercy gift shop. That is one place I would never think to look!:rotfl:

I love my bags so much! They are really cute and I would not have them if it was not for you! I get tons of compliments! I love that they are Mickey without being totally Disney all over!

I'll bet you can get the hubs to take you again, after all you have to get your money's worth of that pass, right?

As for our costumes, who knows what I will actually end up doing. Right no I am leaning towards Mickey, Minnie and Daisy. Just because it will be cooler, but you never know what I will end up doing!:rotfl2:

Thank you!
You have to really jump on the Target clearance these days! I think everyone is on to that idea now! I am glad you got the light up spinners! That is really the most important thing. We got one last year for Charlotte and it was a lifesaver in long lines! She also loved lighting the way out of the parks at night!

I am going to get a dinner at BoG at a better time, make no mistake about that! (Get the BatB refrence?:rotfl:) Because I will work my park days around meeting you! I am sure at 45 days out when people are canceling because they decided not to follow through with the trip I can get it all worked out! Now, come on 45 days!:rotfl2:

It is the heat that has me leaning towards minnie and co. I think it will be much easier to adapt those costumes to be cooler. Oh well, I still have time! You are totally right, Minnie is the Queen of Disney!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The belle dress was defiantly a labor of fove that is for sure! We love movie nights, they are so much fun! The fruit tray was a big hit!

Thank you! I saw that old barn and thought that would just be perfect! I wanted to find some cowboy boots before then, but I couldn't find any brown one! I hope to before the party!

Right now, with our costumes, I am leaning towards Minnie and co. Just because I don't think it will be as hot!

Ooh a princess and superhero birthday party? Great idea! They go together if you ask me! Um, a dismeet movie night? Sign me up! That would be amazing!

Wow!!! That Belle dress.......AMAZING!!!! Sooooooooo, do you sell things?....:lmao::lmao:

Aaaaah, movie nights popcorn::

Thank you! that Belle dress...well it was a project, not selling those anytime soon! :rotfl:

I am just so torn! I have never had the chance to dress up since I could make my own costume and I am really excited about it! I wish I could have like four costume changes!:rotfl:
Fairies are a good idea and I thought about that too! I just need to stop thinking about it and the idea will come to me!

That Olaf and Anna is adorable! What a find! Love your Easter decorations and your new bag!

Well I thought I would come back with an update, since its been a while!

So, things have been crazy here lately! And I will get to how all this is related to Disney, eventually!

We live near a creek in a very woody area. Lots and lots of old, huge trees! Luckily, we live on top of a large hill that is tree-free, but sadly the woody area is still on our property.:sad1:, well, mostly!

So, last week on a regular Tuesday morning I was making the bed and heard a sound like a truck coming through that woody area...I looked out the window and saw one large tree knock into three others and they all came crashing down. In their path was Charlotte's swing set and the power lines for the entire neighborhood! Sparks were flying, leaves and sticks everywhere! It was really something!
Here are some pics:
tree5_zps9726ffa1.jpg

tree4_zpsb4c8dc08.jpg

You used to not be able to see the neighbors across the creek!

tree2_zps487f6736.jpg

This is the view from our deck

tree3_zps78113357.jpg

Charlotte's poor swingset!

The power company came out quickly and took ALL DAY to get the power back on! Finally around 6:00pm we had power again. Our neighbors are nice, but very noisy and they complain a lot! At some point in that day everyone of them were out there explaining to the power company workers how they should be doing their job:sad2:, its crazy! They also kept knocking on my door and asking when we were going to start on the mess, offering the use of chainsaws and other helpful tools, really?

So, power back on, all's well, right? Nope! The next day I was downstairs doing laundry and the power went out again! Came back on within a few minutes, but it was like only enough power for half the house. Things that were on when the power went out were trying to come back on, but there just wasn't enough for them. Then lights that were not on were popping, and appliances starting smoking! :scared1: It was so scary. Bob came home from work and thought we should call the fire dept. just in case the wires inside the walls were on fire!:scared1: Luckily that was not the case, finally the power company came back out and properly fixed the power again! But, alas more damage was done to the house. A TV burnt up, two light fixtures fried, the power is no longer working in the garage, the garage door opener fried, and and EVERY SINGLE LIGHT BULB in the house burnt out! Every one! You don't realize how expensive light bulbs are until you have to replace an entire house full of them!

So, its safe to say things around here have been a mess! To top it all off, Bob's workload actually increases once school ends, so we just have not had time to deal with much of this! :sad2: Bob's dad is a lawyer and thinks that we can get the power company to cover the costs of the damages and the clean up but it is going to take time. So we are sitting here with potentially lots of money to pay out in damages. We had to cut some of our expenses, somewhere!:sad2: Our first thought was to cancel the Disney trip, but that was heartbreaking to all three of us! So, we started looking at numbers and we though we could still do the trip if we scale it back a bit. So, we are back to driving:sad2:, and we are only going to do the four TS meals that come with our dining plan, one souvenir per person and pack snacks and drinks to take in the parks, so that we don't purchase any food or drink that is not included in our meal plan. So according to my calculations (when I figure out how much to spend on a trip I factor in everything, every single penny), this will save us $1300! Trip is on! We are also considering moving our hotel to moderate or value, but are going to wait to see how much we actually have to pay out of pocket before making that decision. So, trip is still on! We just have a 16 hour drive rather than a 2 1/2 flight! No big deal though, at least we are going!:woohoo:

Oh my goodness! That is just crazy! I am glad your trip is still on but what a headache to deal with!

Holy crap!! I saw your post on fb but you didn't put all the details. And I agree. The power company should cover your damages!! What a mess!
