Am I reading that correctly? Only 4 people can be in a 1 bedroom at the WL Villas? Seems strange, considering the room is over 700 sq ft.

We are considering DVC, but there are 6 of us, and a 2 bedroom is simply too much money for us.

At VWL, the 1BRs have one king bed and one queen-size sleeper sofa so that is why the room sleeps four plus one child under 3 in the pack'n'play.

The non-Value 1BRs at AKV and the 1BRs at BLT sleep five because they have a twin-size sleeper chair in the living area along with the sleeper sofa.

Thanks.

Seems odd. King sized bed - 2 people.
Queen size sofa - 2 people.
They won't allow for 2 cribs?

We have 3 adults, 1 child, 2 infants.

Even though the 1BR at VWL is over 700 sq ft, over half of that space is taken up by the kitchen, the very large bathroom, the eating area and the front entrance. Here is a floor plan.

By the way, occupancy is a "hot" topic on these boards so you should expect this thread to be closed soon. A link to the occupancy thread will be posted to direct you to that thread.

We have 3 adults, 1 child, 2 infants.

They might turn a blind eye to the two infants currently, but DVC is a long term investment, and your infants won't stay infants for long.

Another option is to buy enough points for two studios, that will sleep 8, but then you have a problem of them not being connected and adult supervision.

Children under 3 years of age don't count towards occupancy limits and yes, you can have two pack-n-plays in a room. The rooms each have one in the closet and you can request a 2nd one from Mousekeeping.

So you're okay for a year or two, but once your little ones turn 3 you will need to move up to a 2 bedroom (or multiple rooms). I feel your pain as with a family of 5, our options will also become more limited once our youngest turns 3.

Is that just for DVC or all Disney Resorts?

I think for DVC resorts one child under 3 doesn't count but not two. I believe the occupancy for a DVC 1BR is four plus ONE child under 3 years of age.

So, if you have 3 adults, 1 child, and 2 infants, if one of the infants doesn't count, we should be able to do this, is that correct?

One of the infants will count towards your occupancy so your family would be considered as five plus one child under 3. So you would be OK with the non-Value 1BRs at AKV and the 1BRs at BLT but not for the 1BRs at VWL which have an occupancy of four plus a child under 3.

In other words, at VWL you can have four plus one child under 3 but not four plus two children under 3.

Have you considered OKW? Their 1 bdrm's are a lot bigger (942 sq. ft) and they have a loveseat and a pullout couch.

As occupancy is a hot topic here on the DVC boards, we limit all discussion of hte subject to this thread: DVC Occupancy Thread

You may continue the discussion there if you wish.
