We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary at Disney! We are so excited as we've never been just as a couple on any trip in 20 years without the kids! And it's been years since we've been to Disney at all. So we are going to be there 4 nights 5/21-5/25. We aren't doing parks on arrival or departure day. We have 3 day base tickets. So would you do 1 day at Epcot, 1 day at MK, and a half day at HS? Or would you do 1 day Epcot, and 1 1/2 days at MK? The reason for the 1/2 day is we want our last full day there to sleep in, have a late breakfast and then go to the parks in the afternoon. We are doing rope drop the first two days, so we wanted a day to sleep in. I guess I should mention that our last night there MK is having EMH until 11pm, so may be some benefit to go there instead of HS. Opinions please!

What are your two favorite parks? I would focus on the two parks you enjoy the most. Spend 1-1/2 days at your most favorite and 1 day at your second favorite.

It depends on a few things. First would be what you want to do at MK, if there is a lot you want to do and you don't want to rush then spreading it out over 2 days may be best. Also what do you want to do at HS, are there rides there that you want to try out? If so then that could be fun... I'd research the rides and make a decision based on what I want to see and my desired pace.

My favorite park by far is MK! But, my dh is hesitant to do 2 days at MK on a short trip. That's part of the problem. I think it may be a more relaxed trip if we do a second partial day at MK, but I don't know. I want this to be a more relaxed trip than what we've had with the kids in the past. That's why I needed help deciding. Wish we had more days!

There are only 3 rides at HS that we would want to do and one show. I don't want to miss them, but I love MK! Such a hard decision!

That's a tough one... I'm a MK addict so I'd probably go to the MK but then again I'm pregnant so I can't ride on any of the fun rides at HS right now anyway :) Good luck!

You didn't mention Animal Kingdom. Do you not like that park? When are you going? I ask, because Pandora the World of Avatar will be opening Memorial Day Weekend in Animal Kingdom. That may be a reason to go or avoid that park.

We leave on May 25th, so missing Pandora opening or we would for sure go to Animal Kingdom. I do like Animal Kingdom, but it is my dh's least favorite park.

Well, unless you're getting in very late and leaving very early, maybe consider adding on a day or two to the tickets?

We won't be arriving until around 2pm on arrival day. And we are driving, so I thought we would be very tired from the trip and not feel like a park that night.

Have a great trip! A couple's only trip is amazing. You won't want to bring kids with you again;)

What time are you leaving? If it's later, I would just wait until then to sleep in and have a nice breakfast. But then again, I do love to RELAX when I'm at WDW!

I would do a rope drop day at MK, a rope drop day at Epcot, and then the last half day at MK. Nothing like starting and ending a trip at MK. :)

I personally wouldn't want to spend my short trip at HS, with all the new stuff coming. I would not go and wait until next time. We have a hard time filling the day at HS, and we have littles who enjoy all the characters and Disney Junior and shows. If it were an adult only trip, I wouldn't find much to do, as much as I love RnRC and ToT!

Thanks for all the opinions!! Now I'm thinking I should just get park hoppers! But then how in the world do I schedule fast passes?

Considering how little you want to do at HS, I would be more tempted to spend the 1/2 day at either MK or Epcot. We can easily spend at least two days in each of those parks and still not feel like we did all we wanted to do. Or, as you mentioned do park hoppers, knock out your HS list, and then head to whichever other park you two choose and enjoy the rest of the day/evening. The fireworks at either MK or Epcot would be a perfect end of the trip.

Ok, so dh agreed we should go ahead and add park hoppers. So I'm hoping this will make it easier. Except now I've had to change around some of my fast passes. That way we can do something in all the parks. We were trying to spend as little as possible on this trip, but we agreed we needed to do this. And I just realized they updated some of the MK hours also for end of May. Thanks so much for all the help!!! Any suggestions on park hopping now?

I know two people that have a 3 days pass they are doing one day at the MK half day at both EPCOT and HS then a mother half day at AK and they will decide where they want to spend the last half day.

If you do get park hopper I wold do FP at your First park and this way you could get another FP at your second park, Doing this could help at EPCOT where there is a tired system

you do know you can only book 3 FP for one park.

If it were me, I'd spring for hoppers. I love being able to make the decision to hop to another park whenever the mood strikes. And with the new express buses for those with hoppers, it's even more appealing.

I'd also suggest that with no plane to catch, you can sleep in and still be checked out of your room on time AND have a nice breakfast before heading out, which would free up that third park day's morning.

I'd do the following:

1. Arrival day - stay at resort
2. Park in AM (I'd choose MK here); afternoon rest; Another park PM*
3. Park in AM; afternoon rest; Another park PM*
4. Park in Am: afternoon rest: Another park PM (I'd choose MK here as well)
5. Departure day - sleep in, check out of room, have a nice breakfast, head home

*I'd make sure one of these PM parks is Epcot for dinner and IllumiNations. The other PM park would depend on which nighttime entertainment you're most interested in.

Where are you staying?
