I've got a business trip to Orlando so I'm flying down this week and I was hoping I could do the MVMCP tomorrow night, 11/28, but no such look as there's work planned:(

At any rate, I have an Annual Pass, so I could go to any of the 4 parks. I'm leaning towards MK, but I'd only have 2 hours to go (3PM-5PM), after I factor in commuting time and traffic to get to WDW on Tuesday, 11/28.

Has anyone done such a super quick trip? Is it worth it? What are the crowds like right now? My DH thinks I'm nuts:)

I'd only have to pay for parking...

Maybe just seeing the Castle and Main Street decorated for Christmas would be enough to curb my addiction until we go on a family trip the end of January.

call in sick to your meetings and hit the parks all day? :lmao:

Not sure if it would be worth a 2 hour trip.. but if you have an AP might as well just stop by and say hi to Mickey while you are in the area :thumbsup2

I would not go to the MK, because you'll waste precious park time getting to and from the parking lot to the park. I would probably go to either Epcot or MGM myself.

Believe me, I've thought about it:) But there's no way. There's only 8 of us who are flying in for a corporate meeting and I would be missed. I tried to get them to move our business dinner to 5PM, but it's at 8:00. By the time we get done, I'd have about the same amount of time to spend and I'd have to pay for a MVMCP ticket.

I hadn't really considered that, but you're right. Okay, now I'm leaning towards Epcot:)

I'd go for Epcot for the reasons mentioned above. The crowds should not be bad at all this week. I was at AK & MK last night and the longest wait was for Buzz Lightyear, about 30 mins, so we got the FPs for that and hit the Indy cars (only a 10 minute wait!!). Epcot might be a better choice than MK, though, not only b/c of the ride from the parking lot to the park, but also the time it takes to walk to the nearest attractions.

Also, if you have an AP, you shouldn't have to pay for parking. APs include it (unless you have a FL resident seasonal pass).

Either way, I'd definitely say go. 2 hours is better than nothing, right?

I would do Epcot. You can just walk around the World Showcase and look at the decorations etc. Nice Festive feeling!

We are long time annual pass holders. A few years back, my son and I drove from Clearwater to the Magic Kingdom to visit for about 3 hours after a Phillies spring training game completed. We rode a handful of rides and then sat around after close and watched the people file out while enjoying a hotdog from Caseys.

You can do it but you won't get much done but heck, a couple hours in Disney is better then a couple hours anywhere else.

Have fun!!!

Dumb question---isn't parking "free" w/ AP? I thought that was one of the perks for getting an AP.

Please let me know if I am wrong.

Is there something that recently opened that you haven't seen yet? That could be done in 2 hours.

Not a dumb question.... Parking is free unless you have a seasonal pass. Seasonal passes are quite a bit cheaper, but they have black out dates, don't include water parks, DTD, or parking.

:sunny: Another vote for Epcot!!! If I had 2 hours to spend, I'd be in the World Showcase enjoying the various holiday traditions!

Another vote for Epcot, preferably World Showcase area. Or Soarin', but the wait would probably be too long. Maybe shopping at Downtown Disney, I love the stores there, that would be plenty of time to do that.

First, I would cry because I had such a short amount of time!!!! Other than that I think either Epcot for World Showcase or even AK where you could try to get FP's for EE and then go watch the Jingle Jungle parade at 3:45. Any of it would be great if it was me!

Have fun,
Lori

My first choice would be MK - but if I ruled it out because of the extra travel time, I'd go with MGM. To me Epcot seems more time consuming that MK to get anywhere from the parking or monorail. Of course, the first thing I'd hit at MGM would be RNR - but if you're not a thrill ride person.....

I'm looking forward to my first ever Christmas season trip next month, but I'd think that MGM would look fabulous for the holiday's too.

I would have to go to the MK, walk down Main Street and enjoy the Christmas Decorations and then see Mickey's Philharmagic and ride Peter Pan... To me, nothing says I am in WDW more ... :wizard:

Thanks for all of the great input. :thumbsup2 I'm definitely planning on going. It seems like the majority feel that Epcot would be the best park given the short amount of time.

I fly out in a few short hours. I'm so excited about my solo short trip. (Although I am feeling a bit guilty about not taking my 2 DD's, ages 18 months and 4-1/2...but they get to go for a long family trip at the end of January.) I can't decide whether I should bring them something back, or if my 4 yo would be devastated to know that I went without her;)...probably the latter so it might just be my little secret. :goodvibes

And thanks for the tip about the free parking. I totally didn't even know that was a benefit. Yeah! I've always been staying onsite when I've had my annual pass and just used Disney transportation.

Thanks again!

OR you could pick up a special *something* for the kids and save it for a gift this holiday season! Perhaps an autograph book or such for their upcoming trip!
