Hi Everyone:
We are going to SanDiego next year & have only 1 day at DL. If you had to choose would you do DL or CA Adventure?
thanks

I like them both, but with only one day it's no contest... DL :D

Have you been to DL before??? Are you taking kids??? Are you from CA???

I went with a friend a couple weeks ago and I bought a park hopper and added another evening to my one day trip because I couldn't bear to miss either one. I had been to DL about 5 years ago and never to DCA. It was just us moms this trip.

Now that I'm back, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed DCA. We really just had time to hit the high points, but they were great. Soarin' Over California is a delight!!! NOT TO BE MISSED. I also thought that he Aladdin show itself was worth the price of admission. The animation exhibit is very interesting and interactive. California Screamin' is a long smooth ride which rockets UP the hills - go figure! I highly recommend it to coaster fans. Grizzly River Run is fun, but we wore rain panchos so we didn't get wet (old folks) and I think it took away from the experience. We went to look at the new bug land. Looks SUPER for kids 6 and under.

DL was beautiful, just as I remembered, but many of the rides were broken down when we wanted to ride and we were on a very tight schedule, so we missed alot. That said, the parade was great, Indy is always a thrill, and the new Lincoln show on main street was AMAZING!!!!

I love all Disney parks and was really excited about seeing the newest addition in the states. I wasn't dissappointed by DCA.

Hi mousetrom, and welcome to the DIS. Always nice to see another Houstonian in here :D

Give us more info about you and if you have kids or what types of rides you like and then we can add more input.

I also have seen 1 day hoppers being sold on ebay when someone has a leftover day on a pass which might be interesting so you could look at both parks. That is a controversial topic though!

Thanks for replying. There are 4 of us DH & 2 DS 15 & 13 but the 13 does not go on rides much. He just likes to walk around. This is our first trip out west & we will spend most of the time in the San Diego area but I know there is no way we would go to CA w/o stopping at DL.

DL without a doubt. Buy "The Unofficial Guide", read up on the rides there and on the various web sites (to rule out in advance any rides or attractions that you family isn't interested in), learn how to use Fast Pass, and follow the One Day Plan in the Unofficial Guide. (Space Mountain is closed.) Get to the park at least 45 minutes before park opening, then have at least part of your family go straight the rope so that you are first in line at rope drop. Enjoy the day!!!
