When my son was a baby, I was enrolled in a travel and tourism class online and dropped out due to reasons beyond my control. I have been thinking about starting it again and can't remember who I was going through. I have been looking online and was researching PCDI, but according to Rip-off report.com they have many issues. Has anyone actually taken classes through a online place and have you been able to get employment afterwards?

There was a time when I wanted to pursue a career in that field too, but with the easy availability of so much information on the internet, it seems to be a dying career.. :(

I dont know, Im a TA and I love it. I dont think its a dying career really. I have a steady stream of clients here and several regulars.

Anyway, its just my opinion FWIW :) I think there are always people who would book on their own before the internet they used the phone. :confused3 and there are always people who use TAs either because its easier for them, they like the security or whatever reason.

As far as TA schools go Ive heard good things about Penn Foster.

Also several community colleges offer programs as well some are distance schools.

Thanks, I checked out penn foster and I may go with them. I will research it some more. I checked them on ripoffreport.com and they are only on there because someone mentioned them in another complaint about PCDI. Thats promising.

So, do you work in a travel office or out of your home? Do you know if travel offices would accept a "degree" from an online program? I know you have to take the test to be certified so does it really matter where you went to school?
