Online retailers you've been impressed or NOT impressed with this holiday season

Impressed:

Amazon. Ordered way too much from them, and not all at once. LOVE them.

ThinkGeek. Although I think I had to pay for the shipping.

SpoonSisters: Great stuff, quick shipping. I had to pay, but not too much and they have very unique stuff.

Actually, I've had good luck with all of the orders I've had shipped!

Impressed beyond belief: Amazon
I've been Prime for awhile so I usually get my orders in less than 2 days, but nothing beats when I ordered the Kindle Fire that Santa is getting me. I ordered the lightning deal around 10 am... it was at my door before 2 pm the next day.

Uminpressed: Lego.com.
What is the point of showing the kids all of the awesome sets, give a 360 spin of it, all the minifigs....if they are ALWAYS sold out?!?

Unimpressed.... Walmart--long ship to store times (15+days), ordered a personalized rug and we received someone else's order now it is to late to have it reamade. "just pay shipping and send it back" was their answer.

Unimpressed.... Trollbeads--order total was $140 but when I checked my bank statement I was charged 3 times for $186, $184, and $140. Owner actually answered the afterhours phone and was VERY rude about it. Never will I order from them again. So now I have to file a complain with the cc and wait to get the $370 back that they overcharged me.

Impressed...Amazon using Prime getting things shipped to my door in 1-2 days is great. Just have to watch some of the vendors on there have crazy prices.

Unimpressed: Groupon. It took 3+ weeks to process my order. Now it shipped, supposedly, but I have no tracking info.

Also, Amazon. We have Prime, but it still takes 5-6 days to get my item :confused3

Impressed. Disney and Forever21. Both very speedy. Although Disney had bad sales and hardly any free shipping. Forever21 has had a lot of free shipping, no minimum, which is awesome.

Shutterfly was slowish on the shipping, but I got GREAT deals!

Horribly Unimpressed:
Kohls.com

Ordered a gift for Hanukkah for my neice and nephew on Cyber Monday. They marked it shipped on Dec 4th (fine, slow shipping but still gonna make it). Well there is sat for days. They never gave the package to FedEx. I emailed them a couple times with a "Hey there is a problem here, my package hasn't been given to FedEx in 3, 5, 7 days" and each time I was told that I had to wait until it was "late" for them to look into it. Well of course there was a problem so the day it was "late", they looked into it and canceled the order. Oh I was so peeved because by then it was too late to reorder.

If you look on their facebook page, it is FULL of upset people about their orders. They have really screwed up this season. That along with their new Kohl's Cash policies will have me staying away.

Most of my Kohls stuff shipped fairly quickly. I just find it strange how if you order a handful of items, they will scatter it out amongst various shippers and it will all arrive on different days. I have had stuff arrive within a couple days and other stuff take a long time, all within the same order. That being said, I am still very happy with the retailer and my shopping experience.

Amazon of course has always been great. I have the Amazon Prime thing, which makes it super quick.

Impressed- Amazon

Unimpressed- kohls, after waiting and waiting order inexplicably cancelled

NEVER AGAIN

Groupon ordered a food item, came in a flavor that was not correct and groupon has a no return policy on food items. They lied about the product then used it as a way to unload flavors no one would buy.

I forgot to add American Girl to my impressed list. They must have been slammed with orders because of those Today Show codes. They seemed to handle it great. No problems with the website which must have been super busy and my order arrived in less than a week.

Impressed:
Amazon, always..I finally upgraded to Prime. Also really like ThinkGeek.

Acceptable: I really have no problems with Kohl's/Disneys store/Target..everything is fine just not super fast Amazon type shipping.

Never again: Toysrus..EVERY time I deal with them it's a big mess, tons of restrictions, messed up orders..etc..not worth the hassle so won't buy from them again.

Impressed -- as always, Amazon. Everything arrived two days before it was stated that it would.

Never, never, never again -- Gap.com. Placed order on 11/26 -- just found out today that it hasn't shipped and "might" not. No explanation, no firm yes or no. Yes, it's just underwear, folks, but it's my son's favorite and a standing Christmas joke!

Three previous phone calls to check on the order and they kept assuring me that it would come -- ha!

Edie

Impressed: Amazon, Landsend, Columbia, Walmart, and Dockers for free and quick shipping

Unimpressed: Kohls (long shipping times, wrong item in order) and DisneyStore.com (long shipping time and items not included, called and was basically accused of lying about missing PJs for my son. Replacement was available in his size. Finally found the correct size at the store in the mall, but ended up paying more and still haven't been credited for the missing pair).

I've had some major issues with Amazon with the few packages I've ordered from them this season. Luckily the customer service after the problems was superb but still it was a hassle. I'll likely still order from them in the future and suspect it's just the high volume of orders they are getting there's bound to be problems.

Unimpressed: Foodsaver

I received a non-functioning unit. I called them and they said send it back. When I asked about my return shipping they said I had to pay it. I had to get a supervisor to say they would pay the return shipping. After spending $24 to send it back via Fedex and not hearing anything I went to their facebook page. Someone said the new unit would be shipped in 6-7 business days and I would get my shipping back in 12 weeks. After not getting a shipping confirmation I had to facebook them again. I finally got my new unit yesterday 9 days after they received my defective unit. I will never again order from them - I will just buy one in a store. Now I have to wait until February to get my shipping back and I have a feeling I will have to hound them for it.

Almost always impressed with amazon.

Not impressed- Williams Sonoma. Monday morning I tried to order something that was labeled 'free shipping,' but it would charge me for shipping when I tried to check out. I emailed their customer service. 48 hours later, haven't heard back from them and the item no longer says 'free shipping." Probably just buy something else, but in today's business culture I'm stunned they let emails go 48 hours with no response.

Also I had the same problem with the disneystore, super slow shipping. Close to a month after I placed the order I finally recieved it!

Always happy with Amazon.

Was very surprised by Target, I ordered a bunch of things, including an Ipad, on Thanksgiving day, with free shipping, and almost all items were delivered the following Tuesday morning.

Impressed as always, with American Girl. I ordered in early Nov and got free shipping and items that were in stock were here within 2 days. The last McKenna thing that was supposed to ship on 12/7 arrived on 12/4. :)

Unimpressed with Hollister.com. I ordered something on Cyber Monday and it took a week for them to ship it and another 7 days to get here.. :confused3 I also never received a "your item has shipped" email. Every time I tried to check order status on their website, I received a "your order number is wrong" error message.

This year I was impressed with Oriental Trading, which I haven't ordered from for years. My DS9 wanted pencils with his name on them (DD16 still has some with her name on them from years ago), so I ordered the mega pack of 72 personalized pencils last Friday, with free shipping. They arrived yesterday (Tuesday), which was faster than I expected, especially for a personalized item.

Amazon always gets good :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 from me as well. I always ALWAYS use free shipping, and I always get the items before the estimated arrival dates. The one time i had a problem with an item, I was able to resolve the issue quickly with a phone call.

I made a stupid error on my order from HotTopic. Wrong size and I ordered 2 instead of one (what can I say.. I was tired:rolleyes2). Within 3 minutes of dialling their number it was fixed, the rep was very pleasant and he threw in a 20% off code just because. I will use them again if there is something dd wants for sure!!

Amazon.. awesome. Apple.. wonderful.
Disneystore.. very slow. 8 ornaments and 3 monogrammed pairs of Christmas pyjamas took almost a month to ship.

And Toys R Us?? They made such a ridiculous mess of my order last year and gave me inaccurate shipping and out of stock info and then took a month to credit my gift cards back. I got different information every time I called, and spent more time on that stupid order than I ever should have. It takes me a looonnnggg time to get to a place where I say "Never Again" because I understand errors and being overwhelmed with holiday shopping.. but honestly it was so bad.. NEVER AGAIN.

I've been reasonably satisfied with my online purchases this season - Walmart, American Girl, and Amazon have all done well for me, though some orders have processed more efficiently than others.

And while I rarely shop TRU online, I used ShopRunner for free shipping to send gifts to 2 people and they even got there a day early! ShopRunner free 2 day shipping is the only way to go on TRU, although it annoys me that not everything "qualifies" for it.

UNIMPRESSED - Kohl's - I ordered ceramic mugs for all of my co-workers/employees - when they arrived, each mug was wrapped in ONE bubble layer and they were all thrown in a box together - nothing separating them, no organization, nothing. Needless to say, two of them were broken (can't believe it wasn't more!). I returned them in store (an hour away!) with no problem and the customer service guy said that Kohls.com was making him crazy this year. Not to mention it took about 2 weeks for them to arrive.

UNIMPRESSED - TANGA - I got a great deal and supposedly my order is on its way, but whenever I click the tracking link, it tells me page not found. It has only been about a week, so I'm not super worried, but I don't like not having tracking info. I like their website though, so I guess I should reserve judgment.
