Hi all.
I have a trip coming up in one week (EEEP!). We're driving from Texas to WDW and I'm not sure of how this online resort check-in (which I've done) will affect parking. Do I need a parking pass? I've always flown, so I'm not sure how that works anyway, so please forgive me if it's a stupid question. Ha.

I've been reading that we can bypass the front desk entirely, but the FAQs on Disney's website says we have to go to the desk (which seems silly if we've already checked in). I'm a little confused.

Help?

No. You scan your Magic Band to gain entry to the resort.

Not at all.

That is correct. If you do Online Check In it's possible you will get your room number texted/emailed to you and be able to Bypass The Front Desk. But you may have to stop by the Front Desk. Nobody knows how they determine who gets to Bypass and who doesn't. I have said from the beginning that they misnamed Online Check In. It should have been called Online Pre-registration because that is all you are doing.

I didn’t get my email until a half hour after I went to the front desk to check in earlier this month - and I arrived two hours after the arrival time I gave them. So if you don’t get the email, just go to the desk. Sometimes they have an Online Check In desk station, which can speed up the process, and sometimes you just have to wait in the general line.

There are still a few resorts that may give you a paper parking pass, typically resorts within walking distance of a park and during very busy times like Christmas, when parking for guests may be at a premium. If you need one, I have always received it from the guard at the gate. If the guard doesn’t give you one, you just use your MB.

Just back from All-Star Sports and they just used our MB-no parking pass. Actually it was a toss up--sometimes they would scan the MB and sometimes they would just waive us past just by seeing that we had a MB (they did this at the parks too).

We used Online Check-in. Completely by-passed the front desk and our room number appeared on the MDE app once it was assigned. We had no issues with opening the door either with either of our MBs (there were 2 of us).

Agree it's not a definite bypass front desk, etc thing. It does work out for people (like me) and not work out for other people.

Last week at BWV we received a paper parking pass then proceeded to the lobby when someone asked us if we were there to check in and I said sure! They told me our room was ready although I never received a text.

My room ready text is batting about .250. Great idea for but me I rarely get one.
