Online or calling

Online, if you have good internet speed. :rotfl:

Calling you get one shot with a CM to get a reservation.

If you are on line, you can continue to refresh and look for times you want. I am doing that right now looking for openings. I leave the reservation page up, and keep checking throughout the day. This would be impossible calling as you would be on the phone all day long. ;)

Given that your about one month away from your trip, I would go the online route. You can check whenever it is convenient for you.

When my 180 mark arrived I could not do anything online. Times were showing up, but when I clicked on them to reserve, it took me back to the main page. I tried everything. So, I waited until 7 am and called. I got BOG first try, and I went for CRT first, then BOG. I think the trick is to not waste valuable time trying for a reservation the first 2 or 3 days of your vacation, but go straight for the middle/end. There is way more availability, because you have to remember that those whose dates came to the 180 mark a few days before yours probably snagged reservations for the first few days of your visit.

The OP is going in one month and four weeks according to her ticker, so at this point, it's going to be a matter of luck and some pixie dust.

Thanks! I saw that as soon as I posted but rather than edit, I just left it there just in case...

Hello,
While we are on this subject of making on-line reservations, my 180 mark is coming up soon. Do I need to get up at 4:00 am and start booking or am I safe to begin around 8:00 am? I would hate for all my favorites to be booked up before I even get out of bed. What does everyone else do?

I would appreciate any advice you have. ::MinnieMo

It depends a lot on where you are trying to make ADRs for and what dates/times. Some places are far more popular than others. For example, if you wanted to make a reservation for, say, Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club on a random day in January, you don't have to be up at 4:00 am. On the other hand, if you want to get Be Our Guest, you probably do have to try at 4:00 am and even then there is a chance you won't get it. Essentially, if you want to eat the most popular locations (e.g., BoG, Chef Mickey, CRT, anything pre-park opening, CA Grill for Wishes, R&C for IllumiNations, etc.), you do have to make the reservations as soon as possible.

Thank you for the reply. This Saturday is my day to book my reservations. Will I be able to do that at 12:01 am. I have read that some people have trouble until 1:00 am. Maybe I should just try to stay up late and book all my reservations but I'm getting to old to stay up until midnight. ha ha

The system for FP+ rolls to the next day at midnight (Eastern Time), but the online dining reservation system doesn't roll until 6:00 am (Eastern Time). The phone lines open at 7:00 am (Eastern Time).
