Online Dinner Reservations Hours?

Quick question that I've yet to be able to search enough to find an answer and I'm running out of a bit of time :worried: I've seen some posts that make me believe that being able to make dinner reservations online starts at an earlier hour than making them via phone? So is it better to try to make them online? Thanks in advance to someone who knows this "right off the top of their head!" pixiedust:

My understanding is that the online opens 1 hour before the phone lines...

Thanks a bunch - that is what I thought I'd read, but wasn't sure - I'm in Central Time Zone and 6:00am is a "normal" Disney time for me .. nice to know online starts at 5:00am Central :thumbsup2

I made my ADRs just a few weeks ago on the 180 day mark for my trip. I encountered an error every time I tried prior to 6 a.m. I thought it was just my computer and was about to call as I didn't realize that it was a few minutes too early, but then at promptly 6 a.m., they all started going through. Maybe mine was just a fluke, but that's how it worked for me. Good luck! I was so excited and got every one that I wanted :)

The online system rolls at 6 am eastern time and the phone lines open at 7 am. I like to make them online be cause for the most populations you'll have a small advantage. Still, for most reservations, the one hour difference probably doesn't really matter.

Is it slow or non responsive at 6am? I find with Disney's site, I often get 'server busy' when I'm just looking at restaurant info during the day or night. So worry what it will be like at 6am with many users trying to book ADRs at the same time.

Were you able to book 180 + 10? I was told,by customer service, that if I wanted to book my additional days, past the 180 mark, I would have to call them in. They told me that the calendar doesn't go past the 180 day mark. I am so confused. I want to make them as soon as I can. And if I can make them all online, I will.

It's possible that glitches have been causing that to happen, that the cm has heard an earful from people about it, and is trying to save you some hassle. But it's not supposed to work like that.

Silly question...but how does it know? We are staying onsite but have booked outside of Disney with Small World Vacations so we have a resort reservation #. But as stated above, the calendar only goes up to 180 days from today.

Your reservation needs to be linked to your MDE account. You also have to be logged in with the same address.

I was able to make my 180+10 online a few weeks ago. I have heard that some have trouble but I mostly think it has to do with the linking of the reservation.

I have never had trouble at 6am making the reservations . Not like I do during the day.

I make my ADR's on Monday. I have everything linked and I am ready to go. Hopefully, it works for me. If not, I will be trying to get in at 7:00. Only thing I can do is try to book all of them.

Yes I was linked on MDE and was able to make all of mine for my entire trip at the 180 day mark for my first day. :)

Thanks for the positive feedback and explaining how it works. I have entered my reservation # and our info comes up...so am hoping everything is linked ok. I may call them before our 180 day just to make sure I am set up correctly.

I haven't been able to use the online reservation system at all although I've been trying all weekend. Every single time I get a "server is busy" error message. Oh well...I'd rather talk to a human being on the phone anyway.

...or not so positive. Is this a common occurrence? My 180 day will be a Sunday so worry about a weekend day. I often get 'server is busy' message in the evening when looking at Disney's site.
