Online Dining Reservations Now Available

"Your 10/11/2009 - 10/24/2009 The Villas at Disneys Wilderness Lodge vacation has been retrieved and will be associated with any dining reservations you make for those dates."

:confused3

This is very strange, especially given that you are still well outside of your 90-day window. After you posted, I attempted to get on the ADR system to see if I could pull my reservation up, and was also given the error message. I'm curious is anyone else has had success in getting their reservation pulled up? MS is sure going to *love* us in the next couple days, right?

Can't bring our (DVC points) reservation up, either. :(

It's frustrating to know that some DVC ressie #s work and some don't! I'd love to get this to work before our window opens Friday. I hate calling Disney to make my ADRs. It'd be so much more efficient to be able to do it myself.

Nope I have a 12 digit number as well & no luck bringing it up. I just made a reservation yesterday without using my DVC reservation, but I'm well within 90 days.

Just added the DVC reservation I have for December as well (still 12 digits) for the heck of it & I still get the error message.

I must have hit the jackpot somehow!

I just wish I knew how.

You were the "jackpot" ressie number selected to be used for testing by IT. :)

You're the one and only ressie in their database. :rotfl2:
They forgot to populate the rest of them.

Hmmm. Here's what I'm doing:

I go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/

I click on the link under Tusker House.

I click on "retrieve your reservation."

I enter my confirmation number and my phone number (XXX-XXX-XXXX format), then click "Retrieve Reservation."

It responds with:

"Your 10/11/2009 - 10/24/2009 The Villas at Disneys Wilderness Lodge vacation has been retrieved and will be associated with any dining reservations you make for those dates."

:confused3

I do the same thing (though I've tried phone # both with and without dashes, to be sure), and I get the error message I posted earlier.

How very odd......

That could actually be true! :lmao:

Webmaster Cricket (and then I noticed it, too) noticed, and posted over in "the other" thread, something odd, though.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2205123&page=4

When you change one of the digits in your ressie, you get a slightly different error message.

Cricket's thought was that meant one of two things:
1) They are using a checkdigit and the res #'s can be validated (but not found)
2) They can find them, but choose not to allow us to use them for some reason.

I thought up a 3rd possibility and thats that they can find the ressie, but there is some problem with their database concerning phone numbers not populating right off the DVC system...and the error message we're all seeing is THAT message.

Could you do me a favor? Just to test?

Go over, enter your confirmation number (which we know works), and a completely BOGUS phone number and then copy and paste the error message over here? I'm curious...

I followed this procedure and got an error message saying my reservation number wasn't recognized. I input my phone number different ways and still couldn't get any recognition for my reservation. You are the ONLY poster on ANY site that seems to have had any luck. Did you book through Member Services? I e-mailed MS about this and will wait for a reply. The way this appears now, DVC members can make reservations online ONE day at a time not 90+10. Another distinct disadvantage for DVC owners.
Other posters have also been saying that it seems the "new" day is added somewhere between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

I just tried this out, and not only did it not work for my DVC reservation number....I found another issue. We have a split stay (well, by DVC standards, we have a DVC stay, then a stay at CSR, then a DVC stay, so three sections, but because of the waitlist thing for DVC, we have 6 confirmation numbers total).

So the new issue is that it seems once you associate one number with the reservation (I got the CSR stay to associate), you can't add another reservation number (I couldn't go back and try another DVC number without disassociating the CSR number).

This is not going to be good for split stays, or stays where you have multiple DVC reservation numbers for the same stay.

With the exception of the DVC glitch, I'm really liking the new system so far. I made all my ADRs for our trip starting on September 12th this past Sunday on the phone. Today I was able to go into the system switch two ADRs to better times and cancel the old ones. Once they get the DVC glitch worked out this will be almost a perfect system.

How are you finding your ADRs you booked over the phone, to cancel old ones. It won't recognize any of mine. :confused3

If you close your browser down (exit out of internet explorer) and then go back...does the association "stick"?

Somebody mentioned that it looks like everything resets when you close your browser, so it's not related to your login, but your specific "session".

Yep...I opened a new window in IE, went through the association for my CSR reservation, closed the window, and then opened it again in a new window. When I went back into the reservation page, my CSR reservation was still there. And I'm not even logged in.

My guess is it has to time out after so long?

Must be...I know I left a screen up, walked away, and came back and it had told me I'd timed out.

That's a pain in the keister.....

Did ou try closing ALL your IE windows, and starting over? See if that works? Sometimes IE itself can maintain the sessions, even if you've browsed away from the site (or closed that window but left others open). It's not real good at cleaning up it's cache...

Well, I couldn't get either of my reservation numbers to work, but from what I read on this site, I was expecting that. The online system doesn't recognize my October BWI reservation (booked through a TA) or my December AKV reservation (DVC).

I am, however, encouraged by this post from earlier in this thread:
Other than DVC members not being able to do 90+10, the system does work well. I put in for LeCell at the 90 day mark this morning and had several options for a party of 4 for dinner. I was surprised. I do see this as a step forward. I actually made a couple of breakfast ADRs for my July trip and it worked great and sent me confirmations for each.

It looks like I would still have at least a chance of getting Le Cellier if I wait until 90 days out from the day I want to eat there. DH already gets up early, so I'm going to have him check this same strategy a couple of times before my real booking window opens up just to see what results he gets. Of course, I won't actually book the ADR, just see what shows up as available.

I didn't close all IE windows because I have too much stuff open right now....

But either way, it's definitely not related to logging in, since I never logged in.

ETA: It's also still not good for split stays, if you want the 90+10...since the only dates showing up for me are my CSR stay with no option to add a second or third resort confirmation number to associate to the account, even though I'll be onsite the whole time. However, I've heard that split stays can cause problems even when calling in (for the 90+10), so we'll see...
