Online check-in?

Am I less likely to get any special requests if I do the online check-in ahead of time? I guess what I mean by that is will my room already be assigned to me, thereby making it harder to get my request for being close to the bus stop? We are staying at All Star Music, preferred, and not arriving until after 7PM. Should I just wait until we get to the resort to check-in? I just hate to wait in a giant check-in line if I don't have to. I've never done online check in before, just trying to figure out if I should just go ahead and do it. Thanks!
