Online check-in worked great for us!

Just wanted to share our experience with online check-in for our trip last week. We had 2 moves, and each time our room was ready on time, as requested. The 1st check-in was at BLT on Aug. 4th (but that really doesn't count, does it, since it was opening day! LOL!) then we moved over to The Contemporary Atrium Club for the weekend, to save points. Our room was ready at 9am, and I requested late check-out at BLT, so we had plenty of time to move our stuff over across the sky bridge. The next move was to OKW on Sunday, Aug. 9th. I was hoping that our 2-bedroom villa would be ready early, and it was! We moved from CR right into our OKW villa - very easy. So, I would say that the online check-in worked well for us! :thumbsup2
 
with the online check in was there a section where you requested early check it and late check out...or a spot for special requests? I'm just curious. We have a trip coming up in about three weeks. we have 3 moves..one of which is just a split ressie for the same type of villa because we had one person leaving. we requested to stay in the same room...just wondering how that might be affected if we did online check in.
 
We also found online checkin easy and 2 out of the 3 rooms were ready when we checked in. The first one, at BWV, was ready at noon when we got there. The BLT room was ready at 8:00 am when we arrived. The VWL room was not ready at 8:30 am when we got there, but we got a text around 1:00 pm that it was, well before the 4:00 pm official check in time.

The only thing I found was that you should not enter a credit card if you want to pay for the DDP at check in with something other than that card. We were paying with my Disney Rewards card and at the first resort, they had already charged the CC. It was an easy fix and they made a note on the other two reservations so it wouldn't happen at those, but at least now I know not to enter it if I want to do the DDP again and pay differently!

We could not get the request section to work for us, although there really wasn't anything that I wanted listed so I wasn't that stressed about it.
 

I just checked my status and noticed that I have a box next to each reservation, even though all of the nights are at BLT (separate reservation numbers as nights were added and waitlists cleared..). Since I was told that the reservations are "linked", does that mean I only need to use online checkin for the first reservation and the rest will follow?? Anyone know?

It happened to me with 2 BCV linked reservations. I checked in on line only for the first and all went well!

Thanks for your experience about online check in. I have not used it yet so was interested to now how others thought it worked and if it saved time. I will be sure to try it out in December when we go to BLT!

We are arriving next Friday and I just completed online check-in. I was told by member services that I would be able to specify how many cards should have charging privileges, which of course, was not the case. So I already know I am going to have at least one change when we arrive! :rolleyes:lol
 
We didn't make any special requests - just put in the time when we would be arriving. I'll try online check-in again in December & see if we have the same luck. We only have 1 move to make then... BWV to BLT. :goodvibes

I just went to the website and checked in for the first leg of our trip (VWL).
We leave a week from tomorrow. I can't check in for the second week (AKV) until Friday.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to hear online check in is working.

I have a question, does anyone know, if we have multiple DVC ressies/rooms for the same time period (my room, my parents room, my brothers room), will I be able to do the online check in for each room/reservation or will they need to do their own?

I know there is a way that they can do it themselves, but I would feel better if I did it for them and knew it was done (a bit obsessive, I am);)

If you've done online check-in, what do you have to show when you arrive? Photo ID? Can anyone who is on the reservation pick up the online check in info or does it have to be the lead name? Thanks!
