Online Check In Won't Work, Says I Am Not a Guest?? Using Friend's DVC

So a friend booked her DVC for me, in my name, and it shows me on there and everything, but when I try to do online check in it says I cannot because I am not a guest on the reservation. I am not the DVC owner but I am definitely the guest on the reservation.

Advice?

Is the reservation already linked to your MDE account? Is the spelling of your name on the reservation the same as in your MDE account? It could think there are 2 separate people with your name.

She can easily modify the dvc booking to match the correct spelling of your name.

Maybe check to make sure your email on the reservation matches the one you use for MDE.

Yes, check everything as suggested, make sure the DVC Member had the reservation linked to your email, and the names match exactly.

When MDE fist started, and I had to link my DVC account to MDE, I had the DVC Account listed as Chuck S, and the MDE Account and AP Accounts listed as Charles S. They wouldn't talk to each other until I changed them all to Charles S. And notice that all DIsney accounts...MDE, AP, Disney + , Shop Disney and so forth, are integrated.

We just had this same situation during SB2021, you can not do room requests on MDE when you are not using your own points. The option is there, but you can not choose anything, the drop box doesn't even open. Frustrating for sure. I believe the owner must call MS. We ended up not doing a request.

Using my own DVC I am having this issue right now. DH can check in, but it won't accept any credit card and I can't check in as apparently I am not a guest, even though I made the reservation.

I was told that it is truly only linked to one MDE account for purposes of online check in ,..even though friends and family see it.

So, when I enter our trips via my MDE, my DD can’t do anything with it on her account, but view it.
