Online check in/safe travels with no passport

So my online check in is tomorrow but my passport renewal isn’t back yet. I took a picture of it before I sent it out but will I be able to complete my online check in with just the passport number?
And does anyone know if the safe travels requires passport info? Or just gov. ID and vaccine proof? Haven’t cruised since COVID hit.

EDIT: and does this mean my whole travel party (2 rooms) can’t text and board without me?

Safe Travels is Hawaii, Safe Passage is DCL. But you should have done Safe Passage two weeks ago.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread. I thought you were SAILING tomorrow, not checking in tomorrow.

Your renewed passport will have a different number. To completed cruise online check in, you will need to upload either your birth certificate or unexpired passport photo. Safe Passage for your cruise doesn't open until 15 days out from sail date.

It’s a Caribbean cruise. Online check-in begins tomorrow. I really timed this poorly

The good news is, online check-in isn't actually necessary, nor is a passport. You'll just end up in the back of the line for PAT.
