Online check in down?

I've really had it up to here with MDE and Disney's lousy IT. I've been trying for two days to do online check in and keep getting the stupid Goofy "Sorry...we encountered an error. Please try again later." I'm annoyed. Forget the fact that it's still broken anyway and won't allow you to input any room requests.

I guess I shouldn't care. It's not like any of our many previous trips that we've done online check in for have even netted us the ability to skip the desk and go right to our room, so I'm just accepting the idea of having to check in the old fashioned way. Luckily I enjoy interacting with the front desk CM's.

It's just very frustrating that they offer a service that doesn't work. Has it been down for everyone or just me and if so, how long has it been broken?

I got it to work once about 3 months ago. However, I still can't see the info, nor update it. I ended up calling and spoke to a CM. She couldn't see it on her side either and had to call IT to confirm it was on file. IT said it was, but I'm not holding my breath that it will be correct so I'll still probably stop at the front desk.

I say give it a rest for a couple days and then try it again.
Also the requests section is likely no longer an option by design since people get so upset when they don't get their REQUESTS so Disney is likely just phasing it out.
They should just remove the option so people stop getting confused.
Call in your requests and remember they are only requests.
If you rather interact with a CM then I'd suggest just skipping online check in all together.
Personally I like to get there and have as little interaction as possible because I want a few minutes to myself after having flown.

You might want to try the app. I couldn't do it on line a couple of weeks ago, but was able to do it on the app.

We have no requests. We're typically fine playing "room roulette" and taking whatever room we're given. My comment was just to point out how broken the site is, in that the drop down menu for requests doesn't even work (and hasn't for a long time now). Incidentally, the last time we called a room request in to Member Services (for BWV) the only request I made (to not have a room looking directly at the clown pool) garnered us a room looking DIRECTLY at the clown pool.

I didn't say I'd rather interact with the CM's...I said I enjoy interacting with CM's.

I'm annoyed that Disney continues to offer a flawed and broken system. I was already annoyed that MDE crashed when I tried to make FP reservations (just like it crashed on our last 4 trips).

In my experience, you're mush better off with a positive request - such as "overlooking the lake" or something like that rather than a negative request such as "not looking directly at the clown pool". It's far too easy for the assigner to miss the "not" in there.

I tried a few times earlier today - all on my phone and varied between the app and in a browser. Goofy all the way.

But I just was able to check in online using Chrome on my laptop.

So, "try back later" actually worked. I'll refrain from adding my thoughts on how often I get those message though.
