Hi out there-
Newbie here- patiently waiting for my sales paperwork to come in the mail! Wanted to ask a question about booking.

Is it possible to book a vacation online with DVC like you're able to do for a regular "room only" reservation on WDW.com? The only reason I ask this is because I seem to see a lot of people needing to call member services to make reservations. And, also seem to have issues with the DVC website.- Is this not possible with DVC?!

I, for one, find booking online the best thing since sliced bread! You're able to pick the days you want, how much you want to spend- all at your own convenience!

I will be little dissappointed if I have to go through MS to book. If its anything like CRO sometimes if you get a CM not up to date on things, it can be very frustrating.

Can someone clarify?- Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome home!

At the present time, there is no way for a member to book online using points. This may be a future enhancement.

So for at least the foreseeable future, you'll need to call MS for reservations.

FWIW, MS is not CRO. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've always found friendly, knowledgable and professional CMs at MS. Not one complaint since I first joined in 1999. I think you will find most here agree. The exceptions will be few and far between.

Best wishes -

We all expect it will happen some day; it just hasn't happened yet. So we call the nice folks in MS when we want to make a ressie, which is just fine for you and me in the Eastern Time Zone, but for our Left Coast or European friends the 9-5 EST hours (until 7 on Thurs!) are inconvenient at best.

Nevertheless, the folks in MS are really good at their jobs for the most part, and handle our questions and requests very courteously and efficiently as a rule.

So, I think we all agree that it would be nice, and look forward to when they can do it, but for now, we have a system that works pretty well.

BTW: Welcome Home!

As Carol said, there is no on line booking. You can, however, use the MS e-mail address and request your room that way. Some people like that because it provides a written document. We don't find it necessary because the confirmation sheet works for us.

Dealing with MS is not a problem at all. Just be aware that Monday mornings, in general, are the busiest times and longest waits. Also, 11 and 7 months before Christmas time and Spring Break are very busy every day.

We are all hoping for on line booking at some time in the future. For now, we have to call. But at least it's a toll free number, and the MS personnel have been first class whenever I've talked to them.

I agree - it's been a long time since I booked a flight, hotel or car NOT using the internet.

However, there is currently no way to book on-line. You can send an email request and they will get back to you (48 hours?)

Many folks are having trouble with the DVC site; they did make some changes in the spring (more rigorous log-in process, PIN, etc) that were supposed to pave the way for checking your account and booking on-line, but these have yet to materialize.

For now, MS is the way to go - however, I will say that so far (granted, I've only booked 3 trips), MS has been helpful, informed and made the process not only painless, but almost fun! Still it would be nice to log on, specify your resort, your villa-size and dates, and get a confirmation in seconds....

I would love to see online booking and also being able to view you point balance online. I think they will get there some day and in the meantime Member Services has always been very helpful to me.

Thanks for the responses. A little disappointed about the lack of internet booking but hopefully DVC booking may get there some day!
