so, i went on disneys site to practice booking for when my 180 comes up.

Am I correct in thinking that I basically need to follow the following steps in order to do this?

Right at 6:00AM EST:
Browse to the restaurants page
Click on Make reservation
put in our DVC confirmation number, etc.....
click submit

then repeat the whole process for the next restaraunt that I want?

Is that right. So basically, I need to take care of each restaraunt one by one after getting one?

When I was picturing this, I figured there would be one place where you log and and can book ressies all at once for different times, I guess not.

I heard that it is easy to use. I guess I'll need to do separate browser sessions at the same time.

After you find a reservation you want, you can put it in your basket and continue to "shop" for other reservations... when you have all the ressie's you want, you go through the checkout... I've done several together :thumbsup2

However, when last I heard the system had a problem recognizing the DVC reservation number which is different from the regular Disney reservation number so that if you wanted to take advantage of the 10 day booking advantage, you had to do it by phone... anyone know whether this has changed?

Yes DVC #s work now - but I did have to change browsers to get it to retrieve my reservation for some reason (from Safari to Firefox or Opera). No idea if that was related to the fact that it was a DVC # -- I had different experiences on different days with a DVC # and a regular resort reservation #.

But in the end -- yes my DVC reservation # worked just fine.

To the OP -- if you're really anal  you can actually bookmark the page of EACH restaurant where you want a reservation. Then on your booking day, open up all the bookmarks in separate tabs in your browser. Once you enter your reservation # on any page -- it automatically knows who you are on the other restaurant pages - you don't have to enter it again. Then once you book all the ones you want, you check out all at once.

I've just done ADR's for our April tripl. There was no problem recognizing the DVC reservation number. When you are booking your 1st reservation you put in your # then add to your cart. Do the rest and add to your cart you only need to put reservation # in the first time. I know most don't agree but I don't find it necessary to get up at 6 am to do ADR's. I've just done mine for the week of April 10 - 16 got everything I wanted at the time I wanted (within 15 minutes).
