Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I just added in a breakfast for our last mornng, just in case we choose not to go to DTD a few days earlier.

I can see how lots of people are going to go beyond the credits on the DDP and end up paying for table service meals out of pocket.

Those Disney people are verrrrry tricky:)

I was thinking the same thing....but I wonder if people will over book ADR's and then not use them. It crossed my mind to book a few extra breakfasts but I won't pay OOP so I didn't take it any further.

Also, is it odd that they don't ask for your resort ressie number(once you are outside of the 90+10)??? Wouldn't that let people double book???

the title says it all-- I can't seem to find a way to cancel adrs online- does anyone know how? thanks

If they were CC Guaranteed you need to call, otherwise enter your confirmation# and phone # in My dining reservations and you will see the cancel button

I thought the same thing, that it's so easy, people are going to book way more than they need just in case. You probably would be too embarrassed to book a CP breakfast for each morning of your trip if you are actually on the phone with a cm. But I can see people doing it online. This way they know they have the breakfast for whatever morning they will feel like doing it. It's not technically double booking, so the computer wouldn't catch it. It's just rude!

I wouldn't do that- I know it's wrong, but I can see it happenning easily.

Also, I did link mine to my reservation number, but you don't have to. But I think it is probably tied to your phone number.

Once you're within the 90 day mark, they don't need your reservation number-- you don't have to be staying at a Disney resort to make an ADR.

And I bet you're right-- this may make ADRs even harder to get, as people will book more of them and then pick and choose which ones they actually use.

In my own defense, we'll either cancel Raglan Road or the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, or we'll pay OOP... we'll see how the kids' stamina holds up. But we won't be no-shows.

Yep! Going through this thread seems others were having similar issues. My 90+10 is on the 26th so worse comes to worse i'll just call

When is your date of arrival at WDW? If your call-in date for 90+10 is on the 26th, well, that's not today. So why would you be able to see 90+10?

I did this exact same thing today. I found two breakfasts to make ADRs for, and I already have the allotted number of dinners for our TS credits. I will have to trim down the schedule over the next couple of days. I got on there and played, found some great possibilities, and now I have to rework my entire schedule. I am wondering if we can share a couple of TS and work in a breakfast.

You don't need to be staying at Disney to make those ressies?

Please tell me where to find this and how it works.

Lisa

Just go to waltdisneyworld.com, click on the Dining link down on the bottom left of the page. The Dining page will open. Search for a restaurant or click on show all restaurants, click on location and the restaurants will show up.

As long as you are within 90 days (which is Sept.18th) you can book your ADR then and there.

HTHs!

I've already changed two I made a few days ago-I got better times. First I booked the new one and then I cancelled the first one. Worked great!

I asked this on the main online dining ADR thread but everyone there seems to be more worried about DVC and TA problems with the system...
Anyway, I'm going during free dining and wanted to try to book through the new online ADR system. How is this going to work for Hoop de Doo during free dining? I know when you call you have to give them a credit card to hold. Also, I was playing around and checked on a date in September and it lists prices by all of the categories, even cat. 2 amd 3??? Can't figure out how online will work with a dinner show during free dining. Does anyone know?
TIA

:rotfl: Tis true. I guess I just assumed I would be able to see an ongoing 90+10

Thank you! Just found it and can't wait to take a look around. I have a little wait yet, but looking forward to using it. I will still call because I have a peanut allergy child, but geesh..it looks very easy.

I feel people will be more willing to cancel ADR's that they are not using now because it is easier than waiting on the phone to cancel a ADR.

Plus if that are canceling that ADR it opens up for someone else.

I agree - I think MORE people will be cancelling ADR's they don't need with this online system then they did when they had to call in. If they find the something they wanted more they can just cancel the other while online. On the other hand not everyone will be willing to call in and wait on the phone, if there is a wait, to cancel. Or they don't want to wait and will call back but forget or don't get the time, etc.

I'm having trouble with the 90+10 I can only see up until 9/18...maybe i'm miscalculating but how do I see 100 days out?

You CANNOT reserve your ADR's 100 days out. It is 90 days from your date of arrival + 10 additional days If staying onsite at a Disney hotel.. if you haven't reached your 90 day and don't input your resort reservation number you will not see the +10 option

the title says it all-- I can't seem to find a way to cancel adrs online- does anyone know how? thanks

Try this link - make sure you use the same phone number that was used when you made the reservation.
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/store/retrieveReservation
After you retrieve it there will be a cancel button next to the reservation. You cannot cancel online anything that has a credit card associated with it.

The only way for your credit card not to be charged is if you associated your resort reservation to the booking and the resort reservation has a dining plan included that covers your dinner show credits.

Example -Quick dining plan won't work as it doesn't include table service meals

If you just bring up the dinner show but don't associate the resort reservation it will charge you the full price.

If you did associate the resort reservation it will show you the price but when you go to the check out screen it will say $0.00 to charge to your credit card.
If you choose category 1 and you are on the dining plan it will charge you as this category is not available on the dining plan except for the 9:30pm show.

Everyone REMEMBER that page 1 of this thread has a lot of the common questions that are asked along with links to the dining page

I'm sure I'm driving the Poly IPO people nuts now that the online ressies are available. I keep on tweaking what they made for me. For some reason though, the system doesn't recognize my resort reservation number and so I can't cancel the ones I'm modifying. I have to contact IPO to cancel the other old ressies which is just getting embarrassing! :rolleyes1

Make sure you are using the same phone number that IPO used to originally make those ADR's. Ask them which phone number they have associated with it or call the dining line and ask what phone number is associated with a specific ADR.

I've tried my cell and the landline I got rid of 6 months ago. I have no problem getting into the resort reservations area. I'll have to call IPO and make sure they've got my cell # correct.

This is never happened before online for me but I wanted to let others know. Now I have done a TON of ADR's online for people

Today I was making ADR's and the system timed out and the cart showed 0 ADR's. I proceded to make them over again. In the meantime I received an email but it was blank. No name, date, restaurants, nothing.

I kept making the ADR's over again and it went through fine. I called Disney dining and the the blank email I received actually had reserved those restaurants so everything was double booked. I had them cancel the ones that weren't needed.

SOOOO if you receive a blank email the restaurants were most likely reserved

The same thing happened to me. Check your Junk inbox because that is where my blank e-mail went so I didn't notice immediately.

I am glad I called because I had duplicate CRT and CG, so I might have been charged for a no-show not to mention holding reservations I wouldn't use. On the plus side the first set of reservations were better, so I was glad I did not lose them.
