Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Me too! Why can't I check to see if CRT is available at any time on a certain day? That would be nice.

Anyway, up at 5am my time, 6am EST and got everything except Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I was bummed about that, but I know that one often has cancellations, so I'll keep checking. I couldn't get CRT for the day I wanted, but was able to get it, so no big deal. Everything else was easy. Love the new system! As soon as 6am EST rolled around, my associated reservation allowed me to book for the days of my stay. I checked it right at about 5:58am and I couldn't, so that was kind of cool.

Were you checking the correct dates? I believe it is only held on Tuesday and Saturdays or Thursday and Saturdays

I can log into "My Disney Vacation" and can find my resort reservation.

For some reason though, my password won't let me sign onto the main, overall Disney site. Is this going to cause me any sort of problem when I go online early Sunday AM to make me ADR's???

Yes. Thank you for thinking of that possibility though! Last time we went to it, we got last minute reservations. The CM said large parties oftenbook it and then cancel, so to keep trying and it worked out. Maybe the magic will work twice! If not, no big deal. We are fortunate enough to be able to visit often, so we'll see it again sometime!

I still have a few weeks to get my game plan together but my dilemma is we travel as a group of 11 - 6 adults and 5 children. We split up when we get to the parks but dinner is that sacred time where everyone gets back together.
Since on-line booking will only allow for parties of 10 do I .......
  • make the ADR for 10 then try to call back after my time is secure and have them add 1 person to the reservation
  • just wait until the phone lines open and hope for the best

I found it easier to log into my account and save my favorites as it makes it easier to find the places I want to make ADRs at instead of scrolling through 9 pages.

Hoiw did you accomplish this? I have also logged on, and selected all of my favorites (approx. 25-30) but whenever I click on that "View Favorites" button at the top, it takes me to that age-old webpage from WDW's previous incarnation that lists 60% of rides, attractions and dining venues that was mainly meant for creating customized maps.

How did you get the system to aggregate your favorites into a single list for easier viewing? Please help! :)

This might sound like a dumb question, but when you were adding them to your favorites, were you logged in at the time? Were you logged in when you tried to pull them back up again?

does anyone know if you can start booking your ADR at midnight the day of your 90 day out or do you have to wait until they open at 6:00 am?
thanks for the help in advance

I have tried it every which way. I've been logged in, selected them, click "view favorites". I've done that, logged out, logged back in again, and nothing. In addition, the system doesn't seem to remember some of my favorites, as when I scroll back through some of them have been un-highlighted and certainly not by me.

I wouldn't chance it - I would wait until 7am and call it in for 11 people.
there is no way to know if they will be able to add the one extra person later on.

I know this is hypothetical, but I find this a lot more troubling then people holding multiple bookings at restaurants until they decide what they want. People that hold fake resort bookings just to get to eat where they want? If you do this, it's possible somone won't be able to book their trip because the resort is full. That's a lot worse than not being able to eat where I want.

Not criticizing you, just trying to deter people from ever doing this.

While I don't think people should make fake reservations, and I certainly don't plan to do so, I do think this its absolutely unfair that split stay reservations aren't coming up correctly. I have a three way split stay (with 6 reservation numbers...DVC and CRO). So now I have to do my ADR's 6 times??? That's hardly fair, seeing as how I'm staying on site the entire time!!! Last year, with our split stay (all DVC) we called and got to make reservations for the entire time, despite the move. Currently we can't do this online (it only allows one room reservation number...well, until the DVC numbers get fixed it won't matter...). Absolutely not fair, and something they need to fix. Why punish us because we decided to extend our DVC stay and pay for a room through CRO!

I was playing with the online ADR system today and I wanted to see where I could put a notation that we will be on our honeymoon. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible with the new online ADR system or if only by calling in? Since I can't make my ADRs for a few days I can't really complete the whole process so I didn't know if it is towards the very end that we can make special requests.

SO, still no solution to the TA problem? I guess I will have to trust my TA to do them on SUnday. She said she would be up at 6am eastern to do them so I guess I am okay.

Yup, our ressie (even with the mod the ADR CM made last night) will not work on the system.....so we're calling at 7 AM.

I DID make a ressie for Boma's this morning, at 4:40 PM, just so we can show the DVC lead we talked to that, indeed, the system refreshes at 6 AM.

Just another update (likely my final one, unless I hear more):

My wife talked again to the DVC lead she made contact with yesterday. The lead called her at 9 AM, sharp, to see how things had worked out for us and to see if we'd gotten everything we wanted.

Luckily, we had. Everything we wanted, withing 15 minutes of the time we wanted it. The only hiccup was a slightly later chef mickey's breakfast time than we wanted...but I'll try at the exact 90 day mark to see if I can get the 15 to 30 min earlier we'd prefer.

I'm not sure what the lead would have done otherwise. But, in addition, she took all the info we had (including the forwarded email showing the adr made at 6 AM...after the lead insisted that the on line system didn't open up until 7 AM) and was going to their IT department, directly, with it. We'll see if it helps.

So that's the long story...here's hoping now that I think we've ID'd the problem, they fix it.

YEAH for you!!! Great choices!

I went online yesterday to make sure ours were all there and then had them emailed to us (and other family members as we're a GG)

YEAH!!!! :cool1::cool1:

Is it only possible to have your reservations e-mailed to you if you made them on line? I made my reservations on the phone. Is it possible to check them online?

I have done big parties many times in the past. I would call @7am but I would call the Grand Gathering #,it is a seperate number. They are very good and can get large groups in to places that were not available by calling regular #, well in my experience. I would go ahead and get a GG # set up with them so your ready to go when you call.

Actually it does take me to the old blue screen, but my favorites are there and if I click on one, it opens up the new screen at the restraurant I want. It sould like you just have some old favorites on that screen, that need to be deleted or updated. I did notice you can have more than one page of favorites. I used this several times yesterday and it worked perfectly.

I booked through a TA also and it does not recognize my reservation # online also. Does my ADR's have to be linked to my reservation? I was playing with the online ADR's and it let me book a reservation and gave me a confirmation #. Does it have to be linked? All I need is the confirmation # correct? or if I make my ADR's online then call the Dining line and give them my confirmation #'s, can they link them for me? I honestly don't trust my TA to get up early to get my ADR's I want, even though she should.

If I remember correctly there is a "What Will You Celebrate?" box when making adrs online where you could add such a notation - and this is towards the very end of the process.

Is it only possible to have your reservations e-mailed to you if you made them on line? I made my reservations on the phone. Is it possible to check them online?

I just read through all of the previous posts and realized that it is possible to check my phone reservations online. I successfully retrieved them all and had them e-mailed to me. What a wonderful thing! Thank you to everyone who sent the appropriate links.
