Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I actually wish they had waited till after my date on the 28th. There is nothing to prevent people from hoarding adrs. This is nuts. Without penalty for no -shows people are just going to be booking every breakfast, lunch and dinner and pick and choose what they want. I wont but there are a huge amount of people who will. I have a feeling nothing is going to be available when I call. I think people would have been a lot less likely to do this, when they had to call a person, wait on hold, have an actual discussion (during operating hours). Now if you can do it 24/7 I think this could be really tough. Actually is there anything to prevent someone who is not even going from logging on and making adrs just for the fun of it? Booking them up to hold them? You don't have to be a disney guest to book so what stops someone (at all the restaurants you don't have to enter a credit card) from just making adrs? Also, I really want to know the time question. Do you log on at 12:01 am or at 7 am? No one seems to know. I am sadly pretty sure le cellier is out for us for the second year in a row... I hope I can get CRT for my girls. If they are going to do this they really should have put in a penalty for no-cancel, no shows.

There are definitely problems to the system, I do know they are aware of them and hopefully working through them.

Looks like I will be waiting for 7:00 am - when looking at Fantasmic package gives message you must call to book. All my other reservations will change if I don't get the Fantasmic package - only going Fri - Mon with Fantasmic on the Sunday - if can't get Fantasmic will go to DHS on Saturday - day without Fantasmic.

I've been worried about this too. Someone on another thread said you can book 2-3 restaurants or more in the same time frame and it lets you because the system sort of assumes your party is splitting up for different meals which can be true but most times it isn't.

I was messing around with the system and there are some CRT for 9/12 and 90 days out is 9/14 right now so I think you are okay with CRT.

I book in November and I hope the kinks are worked out by then! I sort of kinda wished that online ADR's would be a perk of staying onsite.

Has anyone reserved or know if you can reserve the fatasnic packages online?
Wonder how that will work?

And im wondering im Le Celliar is even in the system,as nopthing comes up at all?
Odd

Yes...I actually got La Cellier for dinner on a day I have been trying to get for awhile. I am not sure I trust it though so I want to call and make sure before I cancel my lunch ressie.

This is very exciting!! Does anyone know what time you can book? Does it start at 12:01am on your 90 day mark?
Thanks

Any answer back on this? I am curious as to how early I can make reservations.

Please can someone report on this?

I think you make some great comments.

Regarding people who are not even gong to WDW making ressies for the fun of it - not sure this would happen. Why would someone do that, doesn't make any sense. It takes time and effort to use this systm, so not sure why people not even going would waste their time making reservations - and even if some 'crazy people' did, it would be so few it wouldn't have an impact.

Now people that ARE going may now be tempted to make loads of ressies, I agree. However it has been mentioned that if someone does not show for a reservation that EVERY OTHER reservation in the system related to that email adress/name/ADR cart will be cancelled automatically. So unless someone wishes to risk losing all their reservations, they are advised to play fair.

Also I been told the system is designed to not allow the same email address/ADR cart to have multiple reservations for the same day.

Not sure if eiither of these rumors are true - but they do make sense.

3000+

Replies!!!!!! :scared1:

This is getting crazy, I wish the mods would let us do a ADR forum so we can ask specific questions without loosing them in the riffraff between the replies I am lost…………..

3000+................:sad2:

I would love to know if ressies can be made at 12.01am on the 90 day mark - and if that has to be 12.01am in the Orlando timezone - we are in UK so five hours in front. Would it work at 12.01am UK time, or would I have to wait until 5.01am.

I don't think you will get an answer on this, as of closing time for management they did not know. :confused3

Try as early as you want and if it does not work be prepared to call at 7am.

Fantasmic packages, Food and Wine, Candlelight will not be booked online, not sure if it will ever be offered but not now.

Thanks for the info on the Fantasmic packages, I guess I'll keep calling to try and book one of those. Was I correct that the system separates lunches from dinners so it only look for one or the other depending upon the time that is entered in your search?

As for the first rumor, I have NEVER heard of that happening. Unless we have a few dozen people who have been to WDW in the last month or so, and they have skipped an ADR and had the remainder of their ADRs canceled, I wouldn't worry about this. It seems a little extreme for Disney to do something like that; charge CCs, etc., maybe, but not arbitrarily canceling every remaining rez.

As for the second rumor, I, myself, as a test, was able to book four ADRs within five minutes of each other for dinner: CDF, LC, ND & Marrakesh, all between 6:55 pm and 7:00 pm on the same night. There was nothing to prevent this except a caution that popped up, stating if these were duplicates "to please" cancel one or more; that if these were for split parties, to continue booking as usual. The new system does not appear to mind whether you double or quadruple book. It's a shame. I was hoping they would crack down on this. Incidentally, I canceled those test ADRs. I'm not that cruel to my fellow DISers.

So when tomorrow will 9/15 become available?

7:01am EST
6:01am CST
4:01am PST

etc.

?

I don't know if this has been asked but, is there some sort of security when it comes to putting in a ressie number? In other words, is there any way someone could cancel dining ressies by entering a resort reservation off a few numbers from their own?

No, you need both the 12 digit reservation number and 10 digit phone number associated with it to bring up a dining reservation.

So, has the online system actually worked at all today :confused3?? I have tried to log on throughout the day and all I get is "booking system is unavailable" please call 407-wdw-dine.

Am I surprised? Nope. For the life of me I can't figure out why Disney is the ONLY mega company on this planet that can not create a computer system that actually works more than 5% of the time??? They should be soooooooooooooo embarrassed!!!

I read in another thread that it is most likely 6:01 am along with TA's.

I've been playing with the system all day and it has never once crashed.

As for all the questions about when the booking system begins in the morning... FOR THE LAST TIME... this is the first day! No one can answer that question until tomorrow. If tomorrow is your 90 or 90+10, you, yourself, will have to get up at 3:00 am, or 5:00 am, or 6:00 am, or 7:00 am and check the system yourself. Sorry to be so harsh about it, but no one has the answer. TAs have been able to do it at 6:01 am EST, but that may have changed now that the system has been opened to the general public.

If you do find out the answer, please come back here and teach all of us a lesson. :)

It's working fine for me. I have been off and on all day trying to change some times but nothing that will work so will keep the times that I have and try tomorrow.
