We are going to WDW when my son will have just turned one. (He's 8 months now). Currently, nothing startles him. He's a very laid back little guy and loves his Disney movies like Pooh and Hercules. We're planning to see Fantasy in the Sky, Fantasmic and take an Illuminations Fireworks cruise (if I'm lucky enough to get one ;) ).

Is it usually the older children (3 or 4) that are startled/frightened of the fireworks and stuff? I mean, my gut tells me that our little one won't be bothered, but I just wanted some opinions on the matter. Thank you!

We went last year with our newest arrival to our family. Back in May he was 7 months and did fine. Although our oldest hates the loud fireworks our youngest had no complaints. Not even in It's Tough to Be A Bug!! Everyone screamed at the stink bugs and spiders and he just looked around as if to be thinking what's the big deal.
I'm sure you'll have a wonerful time if you do go.
We always Do!!

Our little one (just turned 1) has been going to Fantasmic since he was 6 months and has never had a problem. Jumps a little at the pops of the fireworks but that is about it.
