My wife and I are celebrating our one year anniversary next week, and boy time sure does fly.

I just thought I would say some thing about WDW and their wedding department for those looking for advice/expectations.

We had a pretty big budget going in, but due to circumstances that just happen in life our budget got cut big time, almost to the point where we thought we weren't going to be able to make the minimum. There was so much stress going on in our lives that we hardly had time to plan, we gave our wedding planner Carol a basic idea and not much else, to be honest it felt like we didn't even plan that much.

So what did we get on our wedding day? Probably the most magical experience of our lives. The huge staff to help us, we didn't worry about anything all day, we called it "The Wedding Ride at Disney World" because that's what it felt like. The ceremony went off great, we had about 50 people at the wedding (it was a destination wedding for us) and the reception room was incredible. Seriously if you've ever seen My Fair Wedding with David Tuterra it almost felt like that the room was so great. And the cake! They took the cake above and beyond what we asked and paid for, it was amazing. If I can ever figure out how to post a picture on here I'll post a picture of the cake because it was incredible. The chef took a very basic concept and just ran away with it, I thought I might cry when I saw it. Food was amazing, we had a blast.

Point is, Disney staff really went above and beyond to really help us have this incredible evening that would never have happened without them. I really can't think of anyone who can do a wedding better.

I would be happy to share more details about the wedding day if there are any questions about it. We went on the Disney Cruise Line for our honeymoon, it left the day after the wedding, and we had a fantastic time best cruise I've ever been on.

Thank you for sharing and happy almost anniversary!!! This warmed my heart to read. :)

I'm so glad to hear you had such a wonderful experience! To post a photo, you will need to upload it to a service like Photobucket or the DISboards Community Gallery first. Then paste the image code (it should have
around it) into your post. :thumbsup2

Ok, let me try this:

My wife and I have been together for 13 years and are big movie buffs, so our theme was: Movies & Roses with a mix of Beauty and the Beast (our favorite)

Carol and my wife surprised me with the Mustang, a '65 Mustang is my dream car, and they kept it off the budget, it was pretty dang cool.

We did our favorite movies as table names (this was one of mine.)

This was one Randy Chapman randomly took, I didn't know the people in the background he had them do that, I really like it.

AND THE CAKE:

Ok so let me explain: We wanted something that was uniquely us, and we went through a few ideas (Carol was very patient about this) and we finally said, you know what let's put a Micky and Minnie at the movie theater on top (which we got) and let's just put some pictures on the cake going around it like it's in a film strip.

Well, we get to the reception hall for a first look and we see this cake. A total camera (with a working light coming out of it!) and all these sugar film strips spilling out of it. It was totally unexpected we had no idea that was going to be what it would look like. The pastry chef wanted to stick around but he had to end up leaving. We were amazed.

So all in all, it was great! 11/10. :thumbsup2

Congrats on one happy year together! I love your photos and you look so happy :)

It is just too funny that you were married on the day I got engaged! At Magic Kingdom! I love the symmetry of it all :thumbsup2

That cake! Wow, mind blowing like you said. Such a lovely wedding. And that photo of you with the people in the background is hilarious. Happy anniversary!

That is neat! September 13 is a special date to us, that's the date we started dating, 7 years later we got engaged, and we decided to get married on Sept. 13, 2013, which was 5 years later. So we're glad to have that one date for all our special moments. (And it was cheaper to have the wedding on a Friday, haha. :thumbsup2)

Thanks for posting this! It makes me even more excited to plan my Disney Wedding for October 2015! Its difficult to be too excited at the moment as its a waiting game so posts like this help a lot! I love the rose center pieces! Thats something I've thought about doing!

Wow. Your wedding looked amazing. Love everything about it, but especially the cake. Thanks for sharing. Happy (almost) anniversary!

Thanks! I would say the floral coordinator was the hardest to stay in touch with, but our main coordinator did a good job of keeping things moving.

We were very happy with how the center pieces turned out, obviously some B&TB influence.

Something I forgot to mention: when we went on our planning trip we ate at Be Our Guest, which was AMAZING. One thing we loved there was that the napkins were folded to look like roses, which we thought was so neat that we wanted to do that for the reception. When we asked Carol about it, she said that since the restaurant was new, no one really knew how to fold the napkins that way. We eventually decided not to use red napkins (mostly for budget reasons, whites were cheaper) but when we got to the reception, the napkins were folded like roses! One of the many things that night that surprised us and made our night so special. :cool1:

Thanks for sharing!
We got married in WDW on 10/10/10.
It was lovely, the best thing, for us, was that the only real extra thing we asked the organisers was to make sure that our then 3 yr old had a good time. (We went WDW for our wedding so that it wouldn't be your typically, not very child friendly affair)
He did.
The pictures of the delight in his eyes are some of my absolute favourite.
