I know we're a looong way away, but I love reading everyone else's pre-trip reports and trip reports that I thought I'd make my own. I've been thinking about this trip since my youngest was born, over three years ago! I grew up in Southern California, going to Disneyland for day trips about once a year. Now that I live on the East Coast, getting my Disney fix has been more difficult.
Cast of characters:
Me - Mommy!
DH - Daddy!
DS1 - He's my redhead, so I'll call him Red. He's 6 and a half, and he'll be 7 on our trip. He's a good big brother when he feels like it and very independent despite being very shy.
DS2 - My silly, almost 5 year old. He calls himself Banana sometimes, so we'll call him that. He's a cuddly guy, but likes to pretend to be standoffish. He's the king of dirty looks and so expressive. He also loves a good tantrum, so I'm hoping he'll be doing less of that in a year.
DS3 - My lovable "baby". He'll be 4 at the time of our trip. He copies everything his brothers do, for better or worse. He's crazy about Mickey and Goofy and the only one of the boys who wants to meet the characters. We call him the Shish, short for "shishkabob", because he's yummy.
My mom - Bubby. Such a fun grandmother!
We keep kosher so we'll be eating all of our own food. I decided to stay offsite in a townhouse in Windsor Hills for the full kitchen, three bedrooms and our own splash pool. We'll rent a minivan. I'm debating a throwaway campsite (that I'll pay for, even if we don't end up using it) for the magicbands, extended FP+ and two days of parking. I know it's controversial, so that's all I have to say about that.
The plan as of now is February 5th through the 12th. I'm hoping for slightly lower crowds, but it seems that even "low" times are still very crowded so I'm hoping my planning will compensate.
DH works at JP Morgan Chase, so we'll be able to get 5 day hoppers for about $300. I was originally planning on 4 day single park tickets, but this is about the same price, so we'll go for the hoppers. I don't know if we'll have the energy to hop, but it'll be nice to have the option. I'm planning busy mornings, and relaxed afternoons. I plan to follow either touringplans or easywdw for the first hour or two and them use FP+, then lunch and probably back to the resort. We go to bed early and wake up early, so I'm hoping to rope drop every day.
