How much planning do I need to do for the parks I usually have a list of must sees for WDW and plan almost to the minute but for Universal/IOA I am just planning to see the main things and catch what I can, will it be crowded and should I have a must do list. So for I plan to do neutron, shrek, et, mib, barney, in that order and at IOA hulk, spiderman, dueling dragons, then suess land do I need to hit other things have a little one with us so can't do all thrill stuff at once. Any tips please!! also do I really need meal reservations or can I do them on the day.

If you're used to Disney, I think you'll find UO a lot more laid back.

Of course, it depends on when you go and over Spring Break the parks will be crowded.

Still, if you are not intent on seeing EVERYTHING, the plan you sketched out seems very dioable.

I assume you aren't staying onsite so won't have FOTL? What days of the week will you be at Universal? That may help some here provide you with more info on the crowds, etc.. I think if you are trying to fit alot into a short amount of time, you should probably make reservations where you want to eat. It will just save you time. You can make reservations while in the park. For USO, definitely hit Neutron and Shrek first. I would then head towards MIB, BTTF and work your way around to Jaws, Earthquake, Twister and other shows. Don't miss the Horror Makeup Show. It's hysterical!

At IOA, go to Hulk and Spiderman first and Dr. Doom while you are there. That area will be the most crowded. But I don't know...maybe it won't be that crowded depending on when you will be there. After Marvel Super Hero Island, go on over to Seuss and let the little one play and ride the rides then you can head over to Lost Continent for Deuling Dragons, Poseiden, and the Flying Unicorn (if the little one is big enough to ride). That would break up the rides well so the little one would not get bored. Then you can go to JP where there is a lot of fun interactive stuff for kids. Wind your way back thru Toon Lagoon and if the line for Spiderman isn't bad, ride it again!

We did just what Themepark suggested in IoA. In USO we did what you mentioned--Shrek, Neutron, MiB first. Then we went to Jaws, Earthquake, Twister and then headed over to the Barney show, ET, and the Woody Woodpecker coaster. When we went back to MiB there still were not lines and we did that a couple more times.

We were at the parks on a Monday and a Wednesday, the week before President's Day. I was a little uptight about not having FOTL, but it wasn't even an issue.

In IoA we rode the Popeye raft ride 7 times in a row without even getting off our raft (my 4yo's favorite ride!).

Just get to the parks before opening and you can get the bigger rides done without waiting. Make sure you ask about the baby swap since Universal does is different than WDW (at Universal you usually all go through the line together and there is a baby swap waiting room). Have snacks, crayons, etc for your little one while waiting and that will help pass the time, at least it helped with my 4yo.

How old is your youngest and how tall?

*screeching notice*

This past week, the parks have been considerably busy. I'm talking 30-45+ minute waits. I am not sure if this will continue throughout the month, but I would advise accounting for this.

I'm glad that I went when I did last week instead when I wanted to in early March. Of course if I had of planned on March I'd still have that trip to look forward to...

We arrive sunday and will tour all week except on Tuesday (my wdw fix):o Little one is 4 and 40 in but non of us will do jaws earthqualke or twister may not do bttf either will do all coasters in IOA

We are whimps  too scary theme wise kids do wild ride but get nightmare with the scary stuff

My 4yo son does not like BTTF and still talks about the dinosaur. He went on it in April and I didn't even try to bring him last week when I was there. I will try again this April. He was ok with
Twister, Earthquake and Jaws, but Shrek scared the bejeebers out of him. BTW, he was fine on Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror.

Go figure.
