One Week from Tomorrow!!

Well one week from tomorrow we are OFF to DL!!

We have been SO excited but yet hesitant cuz we usually NEVER go during summer for a reason.

It cost us twice as much for EVERYTHING and we are already figuring it is going to be a mad house!!

For anyone who has gone in the last few days is DCA a mad house too? I figured it would be but just wondered.

Anyway I will be sure and report on how the crowds were etc when I get back but I am getting excited and wanted to share!!

I can understand your excitment. We are 2 weeks away and I am counting them down. It will be our first trip to DL and we are preparing ourselves for the crowds. That is one reason we are giving ourselves 5 full days in the Park.

Thanks. Yeah we always go on the off season so it is tough to go and deal with all the crowds when you are used to just walking on stuff and having the park to yourself practically.

I have told my family though that we are just going to go into it knowing that it is going to be hot and crowded, get there at park opening every day and do as much as possible as early as possible and spend the afternoons doing the stuff others aren't into like tom sawyer island, innoventions, etc.

This is really more to just see the parade and fireworks and other 50th stuff. We were just at Disney in November and are going to DW in October so I am not worried about riding every ride. Just want to see the 50th stuff.

Still can't wait though. Gotta have that disney fix. I mean it's been a whole 8 months LOL!

Oh and I hope you have a GREAT time also. 5 days should be perfect!!

Hey Kelly,
We'll be there at the same time!! I know what you mean about being nervous of the crowds. We are the same way as you guys, we never go during the summer. (I think the last time I was there during the summer I was 7!!!) The prices were also a major shock for me! I almost had a heart attack when I found out how much 2 rooms at the GC were going to be per night!! Ouch!!!
Small world, we'll be in WDW 11/11-11/19 staying at my mom's timeshare!!

Amy how funny. Yeah did you see I think I might have posted somewhere else that we are staying at my mom's timeshare in Florida. We will miss you on that one though. Going oct 22-Nov 5. Can't wait for that trip!!! We haven't been to DW since )2 when my kids were 1 and 2 so I KNOW they are going to have a blast!!!

Heck maybe I'll see you at DL next week.

a week from tomorrow (July 26) - our FIRST trip to DL/CA
(we visit WDW twice a year) - our family is so excited.
Yep, a little scared about the crowds, but we've been to WDW all
times of the year and have dealt with crowds. Since it is our first
trip (and don't know when we'll get there again) we are staying at
GC!!!!!! Have fun everyone. Lucy, sailing also on Disney Magic 7/30!

Another Dis'er who will be there next week. The 26-27th. Actually coming down for a concert at the OC Fairgrounds. But of course, we can't be that close and not go into DL.

We have a list of our top 5 rides at each park. Of course, Space Mountain is at the top of that list. Beyond that, we just want to do the VMK Quests, and see the parade and fireworks again.

Anyone interested in meeting up while we are down there? Let me know.
And if you want to find us, just look for a red head with a lanyard full of Tinkerbell and a green DIS button and a 9 yr old pin freak with 2 (maybe 3 lanyards).

Count us in as also arriving in a week!!! We have to deal with ice rinks for the first couple of days, but by Wednesday afternoon, we'll be in DL. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait!!! I'm not so worried about crowds (we usually go to WDW over spring break, so we're used to dealing with crowds) I'm more concerned about driving around the area. Because of this skating competition, we have to get to Yorba Linda, Lakewood and Paramount in the mornings, so we'll be dealing with rush hours. Now, we're used to dealing with rush hours in the Chicago area, but I've heard the traffic is Anaheim is brutal. This week is going to be the LONGEST one!!!!!

We will be there as well July 26-Aug. 1 and the kids are getting really excited!

DH can't wait for a turkey leg, kids want the and I can't wait to buy those 50th souvenirs.

Have a great time, everyone! Right now the weather is really nice. It was 73º last night @ 11:30pm when I left Disneyland.

We'll be pretty hard to miss also!! We've got 7 going - 4 adults & 3 kids. We're pretty easy to spot because my DD is 8 1/2 and will be in a blue and black wheelchair. (Her new one that we're picking up later this week!!!! Yeah!!)

I'd say if you saw a family of four, three tall people, and one with little legs (who also happens to be Downs Syndrome) that would be us, but I just learned the NADS (National Association for Downs Syndrome) conference is in Anaheim at about the same time, so there could be a number of families there! I'm not computer literate enough to figure out how to post a pic of us, and DH is busy with other stuff to bug him to help, so I guess I'll just look for you guys. I'll have my WDW fanny pack on (yea, me and a million others I'm sure! ) so that should make us more recognizable.
