One WDW Tip

If you drive to the parks, whip out your camera/phone camera in the parking lot and snap a pic of your section/row sign. Consult camera while waiting for tram and arguing with family about whether you were in Goofy or Mickey this time. Find car quickly! ;)

I just did that last week...DH thought I was crazy but we never forgot our spot.....
PS..take a picture at the airport too....My husband lost the card to say where we parked in the park and fly....I wish i would have taken a pic of where we were..thank god for auto start helping us track our car down at 1am...lol

I love this post too! I'm learning a lot. Is it true about the paint brushes at Tom Sawyer island? Or is it just pirates there now?

Foodwise, and if you know me it always comes back to food -
If you're having a special day while there (and what day isn't special when you're there) you can go to the Boardwalk Bakery and buy a little cake and they will personalize it for free. I did this for my son's birthday and we had the cake at Cape May after dinner there.

Go to your fav resort for lunch and order a special cake for the family,,check out the food threads----you can pre order or just order a small cake usually around 13.00 for a small one. Celebrate an Unbirthday or just family being together. I'd like to get one for our "first Christmas in Disney" this year.

Shhhh G.F has a wonderful afternoon tea

Sorry dear Mel, you had already posted the cake idea!!!

Go to Innoventions at Epcot and send an email postcard to friends or family telling them how much fun you are having!! Its free and you get a copy sent to your email as well.:)

Daisy Dear go to allears, com they have a menu section --check out the afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. I've not been yet but plan to over the Chrsitmas holidays. Looks delicious.

Hugs Mel

P.s they hide paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer Island --(opens at 10 am) then if you find a paint brush you get either a fast past or a certificate. No luck in March but maybe next time for us.

With the increasing costs....take out a Mortgage:lmao:

no really
at a counter service order 2 double cheeseburger meals and extra buns and voila...you just fed your family of four for under $20.

Just an FYI - it has recently been posted on the Disboards that the cost of buying an extra bun is now almost $2.00 per bun!

Take along a small first aid kit with bandaids and wipes for the little boo boos that happen. It has helped both me and my son in the Parks when our excitement over took our coordination and pain and bleeding ensued! Not having to search help out saved some time and helped us get back on our way.

I just love that image of mom running to get a hug from Mickey and crashing into a garbage bin! Mwahahaha! :rotfl2:

I also take along those little bee sting wipes...dh is allergic and his hand swelled up like a balloon on our first trip to WDW and we had nothing with us for him. It ruined his entire trip. :( I also now carry antihistamine.

On the first aid kit note.....I carry a small make-up bag (approx. 3 X 4.5) that contains: wet naps, band-aids, polysporin, mole skin, sml scissors, tylenol, JR. advil, prescip. migrain med, tums and anything else that will fit. All of these things in sample sizes or individual doses.

This year I'm going to add a few throat lozenges.....I had a really sore thoat last year for a couple of days.

I know it sounds like a lot but it is very small and light weight. Plus, even if it was bulky it would still be well worth carrying.

Don't run to the buses after the park closes. We love to sit and people watch.

You won't miss a bus because they will have a bus waiting just for you if you are running really late. We found this out when on our last night we were running late because we wanted the photopass cd. When we went out to get the bus back to POR the guy there asked where we were going put us on a bus by ourselves and away we went. Beats standing and waiting with the crowds.

They make sure the park is empty and everyone has a ride back....

Believe it! I don't think it was a garbage can, just tripping over my own feet, but embarrassing none the less. :headache: What can I say, I'm just a big kid when it comes to WDW and forget everything else!:earsgirl:

I too carry a few First Aid supplies with me. Last time at Magic Kingdom I noticed a couple with a young boy who had scrapped his knee. I dug out a travel packet of Polysporin and a couple of Band Aids and handed them over....it was nice to be able to help.

Also, my tip......be sure to take in the fireworks or light shows. They really are spectacular and worth staying late for. After a long day at the park it can be tempting to skip them, but try and work it into your plan. You won't be disappointed.

Be Flexible, well it is good to have a plan, but many times I see families stressed out trying to do too much. Don’t forget you are on vacation, relax, enjoy and have fun!

Go to DTD for breakfast.....WPEx has wonderful omelettes, Earl has Kona coffee!! and breakfast sandwiches, and Goofy's Candy Company has fresh baked pastries with fresh brewed coffee, cappuccino or espresso. Then grab a bench and watch the marketplace come to life! :cloud9:

Do at least one character meal even if you don't have kids:cool1: They really capture the magic and the buffet at 1900 Park Fare has some of the best food.

Someone mentioned there is a small farm--that you can go to on Disney property???
Anyone been there?
Is it near F.W.?

Thanks
Hugs Mel

It is no longer there they had a petting farm but removed the animals due to people complaining about kids getting sick (parents need to be sure the kids wash up after petting the animals IMHO)

My friends were at WDW three weeks ago and the petting zoo was still there - they took pictures there. It is located in Fort Wilderness.
