One WDW Tip

Make sure to always hit Chef Mickeys for a meal it is a must see entertainment spot for our family and the food is actually quite good to.

Mysecond one is to make sure if you go around the christmas holidays to take a day out from teh parks and go and visit all the resorts to view the decorations and gingerbread houses they are incredible.

Go to your fav resort for lunch and order a special cake for the family,,check out the food threads----you can pre order or just order a small cake usually around 13.00 for a small one. Celebrate an Unbirthday or just family being together. I'd like to get one for our "first Christmas in Disney" this year.

It is no longer there they had a petting farm but removed the animals due to people complaining about kids getting sick (parents need to be sure the kids wash up after petting the animals IMHO)

Take a pictures of Everyone in the family at the exact spot every trip. It's incredible to see the changes (especially in the children) with each passing year. When we started our trips 6 yrs back the boys were little guys in the front. This past trip we had to move Mom(me) over to the side since the boys were cutting me off. It really shows the growth and years of fun we have had!! Priceless!!

It's fun to send a coconut postcard from the CBR gift shop to your loved ones at home - here's a link to an article, with a picture of the coconuts about 2/3 down the page

Can you actually mail that???

My tip is get the refillable mug, we filled it with lemonade before we head to the parks and then we had a drink for free for the am. The cups fit in the pouch in the WDW strollers and when we were done with washed them out and tucked them in our backpack. I also liked the WDW coffee.:)

Ask to ride with the captain of the riverboat and recieve a special certificate.

Give yourself a day of rest between park days. Just a day to regroup, relax and recharge. We were exhausted after our trip! :scared: Wish we'd taken that advice from the get-go!
And bring extra batteries! No matter how many you think you have, it won't be enough! $20 later for four batteries, I learned my lesson!

Try to be the family that opens Magic Kingdom it is a WoW of any trip if you are the lucky family.

If staying onsite, take advantage of Extra Magic hour (EMH) in the morning. If staying offsite, always go to the park that had EMH the day before.

Check with your bus driver early in the morning --ask if they have any transportation cards--kinda like a baseball card but has a picture of a bus and info on it--kids love collecting them.

Ghiraldhi's (sp) soda place in DTD --sometimes gives out free chocolate samples,,just made me want to buy some to bring home though. And the banana split is to die for.

For a great snack (or a naughty lunch) go to the Main Street Bakery at MK and get a cherry turnover - only cost around $2.00, freshly baked and are huge - comes in apple too, but we love cherry!:lovestruc

Has anyone from Canada actually done this? I thought I read somewhere that you can't ship internationally. I think there was a sign above them at the Pirates merchandise shop. Can anyone confirm this?

This is similar to riding up front on the monorail or with the riverboat captain and getting the certificate - the nice thing about this one is you DON'T have to ask anyone to do this.

Go to the very last car of the WDW Railroad Train. There is a single seat at the very back - right beside where the conductor stands. A child sitting there gets a Junior Conductor's certificate - and even better - gets to say "All Aboard" into the microphone.

If it's a slower time of the year, this is INSANELY easy to accomplish. Most kids (out of habit) head straight for the front of the train to be near the engine - my son wanted to do this. I said that he would get to do something better if we went to the back - and he was glad we did. We were there the week after Labour Day in '06, and at the time we rode the train, we were the ONLY people in the back car.

Good idea for a thread - although giving out our secrets might make it harder for all of us to pull them off in the future! ;)
