I have found a coupon for $10 per person for Air Tran. (visit http://www.littledebbie.com/getaway/default.asp if interested!) However, I'm thinking that I can book one way flights and be able to use $10 coupons twice - one for each one way flight - for a total of $20 per person. Is there any reason why I WOULDN'T want to book one way? The prices are the same - just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong to save myself the $10 per person (which is an extra $40 for our family).

Thanks so much! :)

I think it's better to book one way travel. If youneed to change anything, you can do it separately. I can't think of any reason you would need to book round trip.

Thanks :) I'm just nervous - since I've always booked roundtrip. I don't want to mess something up - hubby would be "alittle" angry! LOL

The traditional reason for favoring round trip was that it used to cost less than two one ways.

Waay back when, it used to cheaper to book round trip. That isn't the case anymore. I always book one way. With Southwest, I can get a credit if one leg goes down. Sometimes, I have found a cheaper fare using 2 different airlines.

I book two one-ways all the time, for various reasons. The only think to thing about is change fees. Many charge per ticket (rather than per direction/flight), you now have two tickets. So, if you need to cancel or change your trip, you'd be paying two sets of fees.

Back a few months ago when they had the $25 coupon we booked one way tickets so that we could use 2 coupons per person. It was fine.
The only thing to remember is that if you have to change your travel plans you will be charged the $75 change fee for each ticket that needs changed.

One other good thing about one ways is that you might find a good flight time on one airline for one leg of the flight but a better return time on another airline.
