One way flights?

I've booked a Virgin reward seat for my return so now just need a flight fro London to the US. I don't even mind indirect but I can't find any websites offering good rates on one-way flights. Any tips?

Never any good rates on one way (charter airlines are your best bet). Book the cheapest return you can.

Thanks but actually found some v. cheap one ways from Dublin and that suits me great as we can pre-clear customs in Dublin

Aye as far as scheduled airlines go Aer Lingus is usually the one that will offer a discounted one-way.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive then Norwegian are starting a new direct flight from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale with one-ways just over £200 , depending on your dates....

With most scheduled airlines you don't book a return flight these days but two singles.

If you want to look for options, try skyscanner.net as that will give you direct and indirect options to consider.

Correct and wrong. With some airlines they do give you 2 x 1 way flights when booking a return flight but if you try just booking 1 way on its own you can't get the original price.
For example a return flights on VA LGW~MCO 7th-16th Nov is being quoted at £288 out and £200 back, £488 total but these are the prices for 1 way on there own Out: £1,039, Back: $1,448

Sometimes its cheaper to book a return journey and only use the outbound leg, this can't be done the other way as they would cancel the return leg if you missed the outbound leg.

I am using Thomas Cook this year 1 way from MCO~MAN cost me just over £200, far cheaper than anyone else.
