One Way Flights-TSA Issues?

I am looking at booking a one way flight on Travelocity to Orlando on American, then booking my return flight home on Southwest's website with a one way flight there as well.

Does doing this cause any TSA issues? I will be booking both one way flights almost 4 months in advance of the trip with a credit card.

I fly "one ways" all the time, usually SW one way and Airtran the other ( mostly Fl) I ahve not noticed any additional screenign or anything like that until just last week...I had a SW flight out of Ft Myers one way to Chicago Midway, and at the gate AFTER security, when we were lining up to board, random pat down searches were done on a few of us. It was just before we boarded, I did not even see the TSA agents at the gate, but then I had a tap on my shoulder and next thing I know I was getting patted down. No big deal, I would say 5-7 were chosen, male and female( and I was wearing an oversize bulky hooded sweatshirt so I would have chosen me too)Female agents did the female pat downs, male/male. What I did think was kind of odd was that it was just pat downs, no bags were "patted down" so maybe something was up that day...I know a suitcase was found smoking somewhere that same day, so maybe things were stepped up a bit.
However, I don't think this had anything to do with the fact that I was flying one-way. My bag that was checked under the plane was also gone thru, but I was getting DD from college and she had some art tools in there so I figure that is why.

I buy one way all the time for my stepdaughter, no issues!

It was an issue for a while after 9/11, but nowadays one-way tickets only trigger scrutiny on intl. flights.

We buy almost all our domestic air tickets as one-way itineraries these days, now that the airlines no longer charge a premium for them. It allows us to take advantage of better flight times and it makes changes easier to manage.
