my DD is 15 and orders off the kids' meal most of the time. So we didn't do a dining plan. I'd like to take her to one TS meal that the ambience will knock her socks off. We're already going to try to get into BOG for lunch. Any other suggestions? Food quality is less important than ambience.

I have already taken her to the Mama's place where the waitress acts like your mom. And she wouldn't like the Sci Fi one.

California Grill: for the view and to see Wishes

Narcoossee's: to see Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant

Cinderella's Royal Table: it's an opportunity to dine in the iconic castle

Tony's Town Square: but only if she's a Lady and the Tramp fan

Rose & Crown: to see IllumiNations either from a patio table or the adjacent viewing area

I may be in the minority here, but as far as atmosphere, the Sci Fy is one of our faves based on setting. Where else can you sit in a car and watch retro movies under the stars? We also like the 50 s Prime time. Neither is fancy, more like fun and immersive.

If you are looking for something more similar to BOG, these are not !

haha, just saw the part where you said she would not like Sci Fi and already went to Prime Time...never mind!

We did also like Boma, the AKL is beautiful!

What kind of atmosphere are you looking for? Are you looking for quiet and romantic? Exotic? Someplace with entertainment?

50's prime time (the home/mom place) or Mama Melrose (place called Mama)?

My questions would be-
are you trying to stay in the studios or even the parks or are the resorts okay?
knock your socks off, do you want something that is highly themed but maybe considered "kiddie" or are you looking for something that is highly themed but adult.

of the suggestions that have been made already-
More "Adult" places are CAGrill, Narcossies, jiko, sanna, Raglin Road
More "Kid" places would be CRT, Boma
Neutral Kona, R&C

I would avoid Tony's in my opinion it's not highly themed nor is it good food.

I would add Tusker house if you are trying to stay in a park; More Adult places Koozina (sp? kat cora's place); Maybe coral reef it's a very unique environment; another kid place would Ohana (Although I think Kona is less of a zoo.) The wave is nice but it's not what I'd call highly themed but the food is excellent.

I really like Coral Reef for the atmosphere. Love watching the fish tank and trying to find all the different ones that are on the list on the table. I also really enjoy the food.

Cinderella's Royal Table was a very fun meal for lunch. Nothing quite like eating in the castle...and the visiting princesses were a nice touch.

If you're looking for something "fancy" then I really like Artist's Point. Got the earliest dinner seating there twice and it felt like we were the only ones there (we weren't...but were seated far enough away from everyone that it felt like it) and the waiter really went over the top in terms of service.

Great list! If you can get an ADR at California Grill where you will finish up around the time for Wishes, I fully recommend it.

oh, so many great choices! I wish she wasn't a picky eater. there are so many I want to try. But alas, our budget only allows for one this trip

ONLY if you know and have seen Wishes before. Wishes is deigned to be viewed from about a 30deg arc infront of the castle/down main street.

ToWL and CG are both way off the center line, and the fireworks appear between the castle and space mountain.

It's a neat view, and it's comfortable to sit back drink wine and eat while it's playing.. BUT.. it's not THE Wishes experience.
