One tip for Food & Wine Festival

I just went to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for the first time I have one tip to offer: don't use cash/credit cards/room keys to pay for food and beverages.

Instead, buy a Prepaid Disney Entertainment Card - so much easier to use. No need for you to sign every receipt like with a credit card. It really frees you up to quickly pay for your items and get out of the line. My friends used credit cards and their transactions took twice as long as mine.

Oh, and I bought my Disney Entertainment Cards (make sure it says Entertainment on it) at Target with my Red Target Debit card and got the 5% discount!:thumbsup2

It's a slick way to do it, but I hate getting stuck with $2.32 on prepaids when I'm done and can't get rid of it.

Why couldn't you split the $2.32 with cash/credit to finish it out?

Can I ask why not cash? We have gone the last 3 years and used a Disney Dollar Rewards card and it was pretty quick - did use cash a few times without any problems.

Thanks for the tip

Our Disney Reward card worked great too - no signing the receipt & I love that it prints the remaining balance each time.

I don't ever end up with leftover Reward Dollars because we just keep reloading the card or using whatever is left as a partial payment toward resort fees or something big.

I don't think it's all that difficult to use whatever method of payment you like, including cash- I can't see that a prepaid Entertainment Card (I've heard of Disney gift cards, is that different?) is really a LOT faster. yes, the gift card on the rubber band is a bit more convenient since you don't have to get it out of a pocket or bag, but that's all, just a bit. I usually recommend carrying some cash in case the card scanners go down - it happens. I've used a credit card too and didn't have to sign it every time.

Remember if you get the rubber band card it's a regular Disney gift card. You can use it anywhere at WDW that accepts Disney gift cards, which is almost anywhere, not just at the festival. You can also reload it so you don't get stuck with that $2.35. Or save that to use another year. The one I have, I have been using for the past 2 years.

We were at F&W today, and I used my credit card for a number of items and never had to sign. I believe if your transaction is under $10 (maybe even $25) you do not have to sign, so it works just as fast as the card.
