One time use points: making a reservation change

I haven't booked yet, but I have a question about one time use points.

If I book a reservation and buy one time use points to complete it, what happens if I want to change the reservation? For example, what if I decide later to drop a day? For my situation the scenario is something like I need 88 points for the reservation and will buy 20 OTU points to complete the reservation. If I decide to drop a day that would be 22 points less.

Original Reservation is 68 regular points and 20 OTU points.

If I drop a day I need 66 points can I make the reservation look like...
46 regular points and 20 OTU points that I already bought?
Then bank the extra 22 (regular) points? (All this would be well within the banking window)

One time purchase points expire at the end of the UY when you buy them. You cannot bank them.

You would want to use the 1 time use points and bank the other ones, unless they are already borrowed or banked.

The short answer to your question is yes. Be sure you tell MS that is how you want to do it when / if you make the change.

Then before you hang up, ask the CM to give you a status of your points - many of them do this automatically, but not all of them. If your records don't match theirs, - well it will be easier to get it fixed right after it happens while the CM who handled the transaction is still on the line.

You can purchase one-time-use points once per UY. In that one purchase, you can buy up to 24 points. They are usable only when booking in the 7-month window.
